It’s Fabric Friday in the showroom. Here’s a little moodboard magic for the weekend!

From sketch to wallpaper, our favourite kind of transformation!

The marvellous Mottlecah is our ode to striking flowering gums in the Australian bush. This print will energise a cool corner, add interest to a powder room, and bring calm to just about anywhere.

Available in four grounding, nature-driven colourways, our Mottlecah wallpaper pairs beautifully with earthy materials while retaining all the layered qualities of Bruce’s original drawing.

- Mottlecah Green: Layers of sage, eucalyptus, and soft silver-green against a warm ivory ground.
- Mottlecah Fog: A tonal palette of serene blue-greys and misted charcoal.

Hello hello! Hope all is well as ‘sunny’ Sydney settles in.

Bruce and I have just returned from a mostly Sicilian month away, travelling through Milan, Palermo, Pantelleria, Noto, Ortigia and Syracuse, partly for adventure, partly for inspiration, and partly because we felt we needed to take a big life breath.

We left our laptops at home, occasionally went off-grid, and remembered what it feels like to have nowhere to go.

Travel makes the world feel wonderfully big, but somehow it makes home feel more precious too. We went away looking for moments of life gold and found them in abundance.

Some were in extraordinary rooms and wild landscapes in Sicily. Many were over coffee with Bruce. Some involved a flat tyre and a Fiat Panda. And some, it turns out, were patiently waiting for us at home.

See you soon. It’s great to be back.

A peek inside the Utopia Goods studio.

Designing textiles is a magical process and we’re very proud that all our designs start life as a drawing or painting by Bruce (by hand!) in our Paddington studio. It’s a special place, brimming with inspiration, collected items, textile books and Bruce’s artworks.

From those first sketches to the finished fabric or wallpaper, every design is the result of months and months of drawing, ideating, exploring and applying brilliant colour. It isn’t a quick process, which means you can genuinely feel the care and artistry that goes into every print.

We’re so grateful to our wonderful clients who have supported us over the years. We love seeing our designs in your homes and projects. Bold and beautiful botanicals, crafted to be loved for many years to come!
