Busy in the Apothekerrie kitchen making herbal oils and salves, ready for this weekend.

Nettle (new and divine on skin), Knitbone and my favourite Flying Ointment from a mugwort simple I grew myself. Wildcrafted, handmade and blended for maximum potency the old slow way, in tune with the moon.

Head to the lakes to walk among our beautiful local she-oaks, favourite of the cockatoos

She-oaks are heroes of the Australian ecosystem. For millennia, GunaiKurnai Aboriginal Elders maintained a she-oak woodland on their lands that stretch from the coastal and inland areas of Gippsland to the southern slopes of the Victorian Alps.

But she-oak is in major decline across Australia. researchers from the Faculty of Science at Melbourne co-designed a study with the GLaWAC, which offers evidence of the pre-1750 ecosystem and how it was maintained. Combined with Indigenous Knowledge, this research points to a more truthful foundation for restoration, not only at Ngarrywayt but across the many Australian landscapes Indigenous people have shaped for thousands of years.

Proudly chemical free, Apothekerrie supports ALL our lil critters. We don't have thriving gardens or ecosystems without them!

No Spray Spring is back! No Spray Spring is our national campaign that encourages gardeners across Australia to put down the insect spray and instead learn a bit about the invertebrate life in their gardens, as well as how to manage pests naturally and encourage beneficial bugs. We'll be sharing some tips throughout spring, but in the meantime, we'd like to know what questions you would like answered this year..? Comment below
