Share this; It's a brilliant poem and certainly sums up the importance of bees. Please people stop supporting the poisons. Aphids are best dealt with using beneficial insects. It's surprising what the little critters can eat. Look up bugs for bugs for more info. Help us in our fight to stop the toxic helicopter and drone drops over Qld. It's a scam and it's fleecing our state govt. Worse that that, they admit it's killing our beneficial insects. They claim not bees. Personal opinion: I think it has to be killing bees. They say bees won't eat corn baits but birds will and bees drink the water it sits in and so do all other beneficial insects. We are a flower farm and we are seeing only 1 or a few bees each day. That's all. If you know anything about bees you realise the important job they do as well as our other pollinators and little pest eaters. Help us fight the toxic poisoning of Queensland. NSW is lining up to be next and the permits cover the entire of Queensland. There's worse to come if it's not stopped soon. 1 dead nest of alleged fire ants found over 20 months does not justify the poisoning or the cost to taxpayers of a 7km radius. Write to our premier and DPI biosecurity and voice your concerns. This poem sums up WHY we should all be concerned.
THE BEES HAVE HAD A GUTFUL
Oi Albo, mate, the hive’s awake,
We’ve got a bloody point to make.
From every box beneath the trees,
Tonight you’re hearing from the bees.
Our keeper works from dark till light,
He shifts our bloody hives all night.
Through drought and rain, through heat and cold,
He works his guts out, truth be told.
But diesel’s high and power’s dear,
And every bill climbs year by year.
His money lands, then disappears
It’s been the bloody same for years.
Then Varroa joined the bloody fight,
More costs to keep our colonies right.
Treatments, testing, strips and fees
Who’s standing up for Aussie bees?
No bees means less of what we grow,
That’s something Canberra ought to know.
You talk about food security
Then bloody well remember the bee.
And Albo, while we’ve got your ear,
There’s other things we want made clear.
If numbers grow across the land,
Build homes and roads to meet demand.
More schools, more beds, more room is due,
You can’t just cram more people through.
Plan it properly, get it right,
Before more Aussies feel the bite.
And after violence brings new laws,
Remember country people’s cause.
Keep people safe we all agree,
But farmers need some certainty.
When pigs and foxes raid the land,
Working fi****ms stay in demand.
Make every rule both fair and clear,
And listen to the people here.
So Albo, leave your desk one day,
And come and earn a keeper’s pay.
Pull on a veil and lift the load,
Then drive a midnight country road.
Fight the mite and pay each fee,
Then tell us how it ought to be.
Watch our keeper count the cost,
And see how fast his profit’s lost.
And Pauline, hear our buzzing too,
There’s one thing we would ask of you:
When farmers speak and Canberra meets,
Remember who helps grow what Australians eats.
Remember keepers doing it tough,
Who’ve bloody well had quite enough.
Remember orchards, nuts and seed
Strong Aussie bees are what we need.
REMEMBER THE KEEPER.
REMEMBER HIS BEES.
AND WHEN YOU TALK
FOOD SECURITY
DON’T FORGET
THE BLOODY BEES.
