After repeated temps in the high 30s… followed by days of rain, Gertrude hasn’t skipped a beat. Her beautiful perfumed blooms stayed strong and amazing

Only half of the buds are open… but the fragrance is amazing. Another few sunny days and she’ll be truly spectacular

Meet Gertrude Jekyll (ausbord), she’s in the perfect spot in my garden at home. 🌹 💗 A classic English shrub rose known for its deep pink, cupped blooms and one of the richest old‑rose fragrances in the collection.

Meet - Yellow Banksia (Rosa banksiae lutea) she’s one of the earliest flowering climbers, draping itself in soft, buttery clusters that look like lanterns strung along a trellis. Its tiny double blooms arrive in generous sprays, creating a cloud of pastel yellow that feels like spring distilled into petals.

This is Gertrude Jekyll.

Now, I know not everyone is going to love every rose — and that’s actually what we love about roses.

Everyone has their favourite.

But look at this one…

That colour, those petals, and the fragrance when she’s properly open…

She definitely has a personality.

We grow hundreds of different roses here, and after growing roses for years, we’ve learnt one thing…

there’s no such thing as a rose that everyone loves.

But there might just be one that’s perfect for you.

So… is Gertrude Jekyll your kind of rose? 🌹
