Thank you to our wonderful community turnout for South Arm Primary School second paint+sip night 🎨

I'm so proud of everyone for showing up, sharing in the fun and supporting our school. We filled the hall with a sea of seals, smiles and so much laughter, it was a joy!

The event was such a chaotic, creative blur, that I didn't get any photos... If you have some, please tag or share with us... I'd love to see the seals in their new homes 🦭

Don't forget, migrate your masterpieces to the community centre for an excellent exhibit at the next South Arm Community Market 🌊

I have always loved stars, but not like this.

Beach walks have always been a reprieve for me, lately that has changed.

I like taking a bucket, usually for the rubbish I find.

It's my incidental exercise and I feel happy walking on a cleaner beach.

The images show the local explosion of the invasive pacific seastar population. These guys are a huge problem, no natural predators, omnivores (and carnivores) and they are making a home on our shores.

It appears they have also started to mutate, which could indicate an genetic adaptation to lutruwita's waters.

Efforts are being made, but the problem seems to be getting bigger.

Indications are showing that fish farms could be exacerbating the issue, warming waters, increase in ships coming in and out of port...

The contributing factors are endless and whatever your opinion, our tides are showing a change.

Innocuous invasive species?

Spotted a pair burrowing just beside the waves.

I've personally seen a fair amount of erosion and collapse of the local sand banks over the last few years; it's sad to see the bunnies settling in the dunes, only adding to the problems.
