Children's maze is coming to Hobart!
The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens in Hobart will build a new children’s maze, funded by a $900,000 anonymous bequest from a former volunteer.
About 400 cedar trees have been planted for the maze, the centrepiece of an upgrade to draw more young visitors to the historic gardens.
Parks Minister Nick Duigan said the gift would leave a lasting mark, while Tasmanian Gardens chair Daniel Easton said it focused on children’s engagement.
Families will have to wait until autumn 2028 for the maze to open, with the donation also funding a food garden upgrade and new fuchsia house.
