We visited the Hex Garden Festival in Belgium and it was lovely to see propagating plants to sell without plastic pots and promoting wool pots and wool mulch. All of which I am keen to try to see if they can work on the scale of either my garden or the nursery. Perhaps some inspiration to try during Plastic free July?

I really enjoyed the Delos garden at it was inspired by the plants found in the Mediterranean. Many plants that grow well in the SE of Australia were used through out. Such as Ferula, Euphorbia and Psephellus. There were many others too, some of which I'm keen to propagate to see how they perform in our dry climate. So much inspiration gained visiting these gardens.

I had the absolute privilege of attending the flower show last week. It was as expected, awe inspiring. Many gardens were "wilder" than when I went in 2018, which is very much my style. One of my favorite plants which I saw used many times including in garden and The Tate Britain Garden, was Melianthus major. I find it is a great bird attracting plant and its large glaucus leaves are a beautiful contrast to other foliage in the border. More plant info can be found on my website and I will have some available in the coming months.
