Is everything working as well as it looks?​

Before the next swim, take a minute to check three things:​

👀 Look at the return jets. Is water flowing back into the pool as you would normally expect?​

🧺 Check the pump basket. Has debris started building up and restricting water flow?​

📊 Know your filter's normal pressure. If the reading has changed noticeably from its usual operating level, it may be time to investigate.​

These quick checks won't identify every problem, but they can help you notice changes before they become bigger headaches.​

💧 YOUR POOL WATER LEVEL IS DROPPING. SHOULD YOU WORRY?​

Before assuming you've got a leak, try this simple poolside experiment.​

🪣 THE BUCKET TEST​

Fill a bucket with pool water and place it securely on a pool step, with the bucket water and pool water exposed to similar conditions.​

Mark the water level inside the bucket and the pool's water level outside it.​

Leave both undisturbed for a day or two, keeping the pump routine consistent where possible.​

Compare the two levels.​

What does it mean?​

If the pool level drops noticeably more than the bucket level, a leak may be worth investigating.​

Remember, rain, splashing, wind and other conditions can affect the comparison, so this is a screening test, not a definitive diagnosis.​

☀️ In Cairns, don't automatically blame the weather when your pool needs topping up more often than usual.​
