Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Woden is shortlisted in the institutional category for the 2026 Australian Design Review IDEA Awards.

The category celebrates projects that deliver meaningful outcomes for public and community-focused environments through considered design and user experience.

Delivered in partnership with Lendlease, Infrastructure Canberra and CiT, the 22,500sqm precinct brings together vocational learning and civic infrastructure, underpinned by a strong Connection to Country narrative, within a highly connected campus environment. Collaborative student hubs, practical teaching spaces and warm mass timber interiors create a learning experience designed around accessibility, engagement and wellbeing.

Great biomedical research needs the right environment to thrive.

Gray Puksand has transformed Macquarie University’s South Wing at 2 Innovation Road into a contemporary research environment dedicated to bio-innovation and study.

Through a considered adaptive reuse approach, the former office building has been repurposed to support the complex demands of biomedical research, bringing together clinical trial facilities, contemporary workplace settings, and adaptable PC2 laboratories.

Working closely alongside Macquarie University and FDC Construction & Fitout, Gray Puksand acted as Executive Architect throughout the design development, documentation, and delivery phases.

100 Melbourne Street Brisbane has been shortlisted in the Workplace Under 1000sqm category for the 2026 Australian Design Review IDEA Awards, recognising workplace/commercial projects that demonstrate strong spatial planning, sustainability and originality within a compact footprint.

This standout project transforms a former single tenant office into a multitenant workplace with shared arrival and social spaces. Retaining elements of the existing staircase supported a more sustainable approach to the fitout while encouraging incidental moments of connection throughout the workplace.

Drawing from the social character of South Brisbane’s historic Greek clubs, the design references the idea of the plateia, a shared gathering space that supports interaction within the workplace. The redesigned floorplates were stripped back to create adaptable, move in ready spaces capable of accommodating multiple tenants per level, enabling a more resilient and future-focused commercial offering.

Green marble finishes and commissioned artwork by Brisbane-based artist Jess Sellinger contribute to a warm and layered interior expression.

28 Greengate has officially broken ground, marking an important milestone for New Epping’s Greengate Work Precinct.

Designed by Gray Puksand for Riverlee Group the strata office development has been conceived as “a building in the landscape,” responding to its setting alongside Edgars Creek through permeable frontages, generous planting, and strong connections to the public realm.

At the center of the project is a 650sqm+ Northern Plaza with outdoor workstations and informal meeting spaces designed to support flexible working throughout the day.

Designed in the round to respond to its prominent position within the precinct, 28 Greengate combines a contemporary architectural expression with a human-scaled approach connected to the street and surrounding landscape.

The Woden Education First Youth Foyer is a powerful example of how design can create meaningful social impact.

The Youth Foyer provides young people with stable housing, education pathways and the support needed to build independence and confidence for the future.

Senior Associate Ian Hollen, and ACT Government Director of Homelessness Services, Penny Frost reflect on the importance of compassionate architecture and creating places that uplift individuals and strengthen community connection.

We’re pleased to see the Woden Education First Youth Foyer officially open Canberra.

Established to support students aged 16–24 experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, the Youth Foyer brings together safe and stable accommodation with education, training and wrap-around support, empowering residents to focus on their future and build pathways to independence.

The 20-unit accommodation is run in partnership with Marymead CatholicCare Canberra and Goulburn, Brotherhood of St Laurence and the Canberra Institute of Technology. This project is an investment in opportunity, education and long-term community outcomes.

Gray Puksand is proud to have contributed to a project that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of young students, supporting them to thrive, participate in education and invest in their future with confidence.
