So guys, all the other jobbies got put on hold, because I had this trench dug by Chris on the digger.
And apparently we are expecting rain...πŸ™„πŸ€”
So that meant, hurry up and do this french drian before a deluge of water fills it up for me and not the way it needs to be done! 🀣
So....ta da....
This actually took me three days. Cos shovelling two trailer loads of rocks and 3 cubic metres of fill (from the hole) its bloody hard work! (I am now suffering quietly. In the air-conditioning, on the lounge, with snacks and drinks....but everything hurts πŸ€•)

I told you guys it was an epic month for getting s**t done!
Earthworks too!
This awesome little dozer pushed in some new fire breaks throughout the property. Big 10m wide ones. The photos dont do it justice.
He also smoothed out my driveway and re-did the spoon drain that runs down beside it.
And at the same time as all that happening, Chris came out with the digger to put in new crossover pipes to the house.
You know you have a great operator when you give a vague idea of 'garden art' upright logs and then leave him to it (I had a market to go to). When I got back, my idea had come to life! So happy with it 😍
Huge thankyou to SEIG Contracting, Jens Lenhard

Remember the DIY grease trap for my kitchen sink, guys? It was a very effective 20L bucked system that emptied into a small garden bed (removed for the deck. My poor pomegranate tree is now suffering serious stress, but will hopefully come back to life).
Well, I put my plumbing hat on and re-routed the sink waste to go out to the green filter bed. This is also where my grey water goes and where the leachate from the vermiculite septic system goes.
I bought a proper grease trap bin too! I am now waiting to finish that little jobbie off, because another 'little jobbie' took over as highest priority. 🀣🀣 as you do!
So I will do an update when I get to finishing that one! Ha ha πŸ˜‚

September flew by in a bit of a blur here at Tans Acres.
While I still had Karin Griffen and Jamie Griffen here, we all got busy and smashed out some serious work!

Karin sorted all my poor dilapidated garden beds, removing old ones and combining the soil to let it compost away until the new bed area is ready (watch this space). And removing all the huge tuffs of grass on the fenceline of my garden area. A colossal task to be sure!
And generally watering what was left in 'sick bay' and repotting things, to go into sick bay, lol. Turns out....plants need water! Haha...sorry plants.

Meanwhile....Jamie and I got busy doing the foundations for the wrap around deck.
I found a local sawmill selling seconds timber, so of course I can home with a trailer full! And off we went!

Little beach break. Off lead, not a sole in sight!

Ta daaa!

I know what your thinking...dayum that girl works quick!
Well, it did take 4 days and two trips to bunnings, (thankyou Karin Griffen and Jamie Griffen!!) and plenty of sore lesser used muscles..hahah
So I realised while looking for the original front of house photos, that I didnt post about painting the front of the house either! Woopsy...do you like it? Will you forgive me?

So, that happened a while ago. My adorable little house is gonna be green! One side at a time. (The last pic is the next side to be done...)

And now the front deck is on...wow. I am sitting on it now writing this post, with some 70s mix on spotify. The dogs lazing around with me in the shade. Ahhh....

Whats next? Who knows....but I will be better at keeping you guys updated, as now I am only doing the markets on the weekends and have the rest of the week off. No excuses now. 😁😬πŸ€ͺπŸ₯°

Heyyyyy....πŸ˜πŸ˜€

So I totally forgot to do a post about a VERY exciting addition to my big shed.
How could I forget such a thing! I know! What the hell....! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
Well a lot has been happening in and around my little life here.

So here are some pics of the mezzanine floor going up in the shed.
Dad came up to help with the construction of it all and we managed to smash it out in 3 days!
So, a big thankyou for that Frank Healey. And Sue Healey for feeding us throughout 😁
Dad had a spare day so he also installed the PA door in the shed🀩....finally, I have a normal entrance in there. It is amazing!
Aaaaannnnndddddd.....(I know! Theres more..) we discussed putting in a deck at the front of the house. Neck minute he has put stumps and bearers in place, rwady for me to finish the deck when I get more materials.
Wow!

Magnetic flyscreens and sheers...
Installed using some old re-vamed hardwood (of course🀣) and hooks.

What do we think?
