From Gunnedah to Canada: bringing new agronomy insights home š¾
Gunnedah-based Agronomist Charlie Oates recently spent three weeks in Canada with AgLink and Pursehouse Rural as part of an Agronomy Exchange Program.
Charlie visited AgLink Canada members including Taber Home & Farm Centre in Southern Alberta, Grow Plan Fertilisers in Choiceland, Saskatchewan, and The Rack Ltd in Biggar, Saskatchewan.
The exchange offered a valuable look at how agriculture and agronomy operate across Canada, from broadacre and irrigation to diverse horticultural operations. Charlie saw crops ranging from canola, wheat and barley to lucerne, potatoes, sugar beet, field peas, sweet corn, specialty oils and fresh produce.
After learning from industry professionals and gaining new perspectives, Charlie is looking forward to applying his experience in the paddock back home.
