Repairing a Stegbar sliding door?

These sliding door carriages are commonly used in Stegbar doors, but there’s an important detail to check before ordering: they come in separate left-handed and right-handed versions.

Don’t get caught out and accidentally purchase two of the same hand. Compare both existing carriages carefully before ordering, as they require one left-hand and one right-hand carriage.

A little track maintenance can prevent a much bigger repair.

Sand, dirt and debris can build up inside sliding door and window tracks. As the rollers travel over this grit, it damages the roller surface and bearings, making the door or window harder and noisier to operate.

Once the rollers stop moving smoothly, they can begin scraping, dragging and wearing away the track. If left unchecked, what started as a dirty track can lead to damaged rollers, carriages and track—requiring considerably more work to repair.

Regularly vacuuming and cleaning your tracks helps everything run smoothly and can extend the life of your sliding door and window hardware.

The difference is in the width of the flared wings:

1070A — 17mm wings
1070B — 22mm wings
