Maitland’s creative scene just got a major upgrade. If you haven’t checked it out yet, The Studio Maitland is a new independent art space that just opened up over on Garnett Road, run by local artist Kimberly Swan.

It’s an entirely screen-free, hands-on workshop space designed to let you just zone out and create.
No ego, no pressure, just good design and process-based art.

If you’re looking for a creative outlet or want to get your kids off iPads and into making tangible things, her lineup is incredibly solid:

* For Adults: Unwind at casual Sip & Create nights, jump into weekend masterclasses, or build actual technical fundamentals in her foundational art sessions.

* For Kids: Messy sensory play for toddlers, home-school day groups, and structured after-school programs (plus they take Creative Kids vouchers).

* For Everyone: Inclusive, supported small-group classes for all abilities, plus private one-on-one sessions.

Give her a follow at The Studio Maitland, look at the upcoming timetable, and support a killer new local space.

A family heirloom, beautifully preserved for generations to come.

We had the absolute privilege of custom-framing this stunning vintage maritime oil painting for one of our wonderful clients. Passed down through her family, this moody masterpiece holds decades of memories, and it was our job to make sure it looks magnificent while staying fully protected for the future.

The Framing Design
* The Frame: A substantial, heavily sculpted gilded gold sweep moulding. The deeply carved, ornate baroque pattern brings out the classical grandeur of the artwork.
* The Depth: A dark inner liner creates a visual shadow box, isolating the scene and making that golden moonlit reflection absolutely pop.

Archival Preservation
Standard glass was out of the question for an irreplaceable family heirloom. We used premium Conservation Art Glass to deliver:
* 99% UV Protection: Blocks harmful UV rays to prevent the deep oil pigments from fading or cracking over time.
* Anti-Reflective Clarity: An advanced optical coating removes glare entirely. The glass is virtually invisible, letting you see every brushstroke from any angle.
Thank you to our customer for trusting us with such a treasured piece of her family history!

Do you have a family heirloom, vintage painting, or precious memory tucked away in a cupboard? Don’t let it fade away. Bring it into either of our showrooms, and let’s design a custom archival solution to protect it forever.
