We’re looking for a motivated Wall & Floor Tiling Apprentice to join our team.

We specialise in high-end residential tiling and complete bathroom renovations throughout Perth, with a strong focus on quality, preparation and attention to detail.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

- Reliable & punctual
- Hard working with a good attitude
- Takes pride in their work
- Willing to listen, learn & improve
- Respectful in clients’ homes
- Able to work as part of a team
- Driver’s licence required
- Experience isn’t everything — attitude is.

This isn’t just about carrying buckets and mixing glue.

You’ll be learning the trade properly — preparation, waterproofing, screeding, large-format tiling, mitres, niches, detailed bathroom work and everything that goes into producing a high-quality finish.

Our standards are high, but so is the level of training and opportunity.

NICHE DETAILS | PLANNED, NOT JUST ADDED

A shower niche might look simple when it’s finished — but a good one is planned before the first tile goes anywhere near the wall.

At JWM Tiling, we custom-build our niches around the tile layout, not the other way around.

The goal? 👇

Make it look like we’ve simply pressed one tile back into the wall.

We plan the position and size, carefully cut it into the wall, add structural support/lintels where required, waterproof it as part of the complete system, then tile it so everything flows with the surrounding layout.

One detail we’re particularly big on is the base of the niche.

Where possible, we design the layout so there are no unnecessary grout joints running through the shelf. Fewer joints means fewer areas for soap, shampoo and grime to collect — making it much easier to keep clean.

✨ THROWBACK TUESDAY | THE VINES ✨
Throwing it back to one of our favourite projects from 2025 – Danielle & Ross's beautiful family home.
Unfortunately, their original installation had begun to fail due to building settlement and the use of lower-quality materials. Tiles were literally falling off the walls, cracks had appeared throughout the home, and it was time to do it properly.
Our journey started with replacing the timber-look flooring throughout the entire home—including the bedrooms, living areas, laundry, scullery and every space in between. Once that was complete, we returned to transform all of the wet areas.
The brief was simple:
✔️ A modern, low-maintenance design.
✔️ Less glass for easier cleaning.
✔️ A practical wet-room layout for a young family.
✔️ Keep the freestanding bath for relaxation and future resale value.
To finish it off, we incorporated custom-built niches aligned perfectly with the tile layout for a seamless finish.

🔨 MONDAY MYTH: Bigger tiles = quicker job because there are fewer tiles.

Sounds logical… but ❌ MYTH BUSTED.

Large-format tiles might mean fewer individual pieces, but they demand a high level of preparation and precision.

The larger the tile, the less forgiving the installation becomes. Substrates need to be properly prepared, set-out needs to be spot on, adhesive coverage is critical and controlling lippage becomes even more important.

And when you’re dealing with cuts around wastes, tapware, niches, corners and bathroom fixtures — there’s nowhere to hide.

This before & after is a pretty good example of how larger-format tiles can completely transform a space. 👌

Fewer tiles doesn’t mean less work. It means every tile matters more.

✨ Sometimes the best projects begin with just one question…

“What would you do if this was your bathroom?”

Ben & Siobhan gave us complete creative freedom. They didn’t come to us with a finished design—they trusted us to create something special that suited their home, lifestyle and budget.

Working within the constraints of an upstairs bathroom meant a traditional level-entry shower wasn’t practical. Rather than seeing it as a limitation, we turned it into the room’s standout feature. The raised shower base allowed us to design a custom curved walk-in shower, paired with a floating recessed shelf, concealed LED lighting and a seamless linear drain to create a space that feels luxurious, functional and completely unique.

The transformation speaks for itself.

What made this project even more enjoyable was the clients themselves. Ben & Siobhan were an absolute pleasure to work with—kind, trusting and genuinely appreciative throughout the entire renovation. They put their faith in our ideas from day one, making the whole process smooth and enjoyable for everyone involved.

With their baby due in just a couple of weeks, we knew finishing on time was critical. We’re proud to say we delivered the renovation before their newest family member arrives, giving them one less thing to worry about and a beautiful space to enjoy for years to come.
