If you’re caught in the research wormhole for your new home, here’s the sign to stop the scroll and start planning with purpose (heck yes!).

Because while we all love a good “open concept” or “modern farmhouse” moment, designing a guest suite fit for royalty doesn’t make sense if you actually live in the kitchen and have no clue where the “extra storage” is going

Let’s bring it back to basics and talk about the stuff that really matters, like how to make your layout future-proof, daily-routine-friendly, and wallet-approved.

When you’re ready to turn that Pinterest board into something a little more real, the Layout Explorer is here with three layout options, budget insights, and zero pressure to sign onto full design services.

Check the link in bio to get on the waitlist, and say goodbye to design decision limbo! These are our last booking spots for the year so hop on to make that start on your project THIS YEAR! Oh and also waitlist exclusive discounts come launch day! woot!

Options, options, optionsÂ đŸ€”

We may have gone overboard with options for this backyard studio design (yes five!) buuuuut each one had the client's vibe in mind. We played with everything from plywood to thermolaminated profiled doors to hit that warm, homely (but modern) feel.

And let’s be real—no one has time to live in option wonderland forever. The real magic here? It wasn’t about giving them endless choices—it was about giving them the right ones.

And that’s exactly what the Layout Explorer does, but on a bigger scale. You’ll get three tailored layout options and a high level cost estimate upfront—so instead of guessing what’s possible for your home, you’ll have a roadmap that makes the whole process easier (and a lot less stressful).

If you’ve been spinning your wheels trying to make sense of your wishlist, we’re about to make it a whole lot easier. The waitlist is opening soon for November and December bookings, and spots will go fast. So drop us a follow, keep those eyes peeled—your dream home is this close to happening ❀

What's that floorboard?
Our first ever project, we used gorgeous solid timber blackbutt floorboards. They were so comfy for bare feet, enduring and did I mention gorgeous?

If you're choosing a floorboard for your reno/extension, there's 3 main types to pick from:

$ Laminate - This is the cheap and cheerful version of the natural products. The surface of these boards is a printed veneer to look like timber planks. The downside is the repetition of pattern (being a print) and it cant be sanded or refinished if damaged.

$$ Timber veneer - The top layer of these boards is 2-6mm of solid timber so from the surface it looks like a solid board. These have good moisture resistance due to the engineered core. They also come in a great range of species, looks and tones.

$$$ Solid timber - These beauties are solid planks of natural timber and are also the longest lasting choice. Nuff said.

We are stepping into a season of growth and development here at Delve đŸŒ±â

Balancing small business (especially an architectural one) with a young family is no piece of cake but we've never felt so invigorated, hopeful and proud of where we're at.

We have:

đŸŒ±Rebranded to be aligned with the values we genuinely BELIEVE in

đŸŒ±Honed in on what we are REALLY good at and LOVE to do

đŸŒ±LISTENED to what our people want/need and developed an offering that caters for them AND us

đŸŒ±Threw out the rule book on how architects market themselves and let go of the "ick" of being salesy

đŸŒ±Learned to say no when it doesn't feel right and held space for more aligned new opportunities

It's been an amazing year of change, learning and risk-taking already, but we are amping it up another notch in the coming months đŸ’Ș:

Can't wait to share with you all đŸ„°
