When the material makes a statement, every other detail matters.

At our Blakehurst bathroom project, richly veined marble takes centre stage, bringing movement, texture and character to the space.

Rather than limiting the marble to a single feature, the design carries it across the vanity benchtop, splashback and cabinetry fronts, creating a continuous material story.

Dark wall-mounted tapware introduces a subtle contrast, while integrated basins maintain a clean, uninterrupted surface. Above, two individual mirrors and a centrally positioned wall light bring balance to the double vanity arrangement.

The surrounding neutral finishes allow the marble to remain the focal point without overwhelming the room.

It's a good example of how material selection, fixture coordination and thoughtful detailing can work together to create a bathroom with a distinctive yet cohesive identity.

A darker palette doesn't have to make a bathroom feel heavy.

At our Marsfield project, contrast and considered detailing come together to create a bathroom that feels both contemporary and balanced.

Dark, stone-look wall tiles establish a strong backdrop, while the white vessel basin, light benchtop and custom joinery introduce brightness and definition.

It's the smaller details that bring everything together. The softly rounded vanity benchtop contrasts with the clean lines of the cabinetry, brushed metallic tapware adds a subtle accent, and open shelving provides accessible storage without adding visual bulk.

The result is a space where materials, fixtures and joinery work together, each contributing to the overall design without competing for attention.

A butler's kitchen should do more than provide extra storage.

When thoughtfully planned, it becomes an extension of the main kitchen, creating space for food preparation, appliances and everyday essentials while keeping the main area organised and ready for entertaining.

From full-height custom joinery and integrated appliances to well-positioned sinks and practical bench space, every decision plays a part in making the most of the available footprint.

A white kitchen doesn’t have to feel one-dimensional.

At the Ave Re*****on project, a restrained white palette creates the foundation, with integrated joinery, light stone surfaces and minimal detailing keeping the kitchen clean and open.

The island is where the material story changes. Timber battens bring warmth and texture to the front elevation, echoed by the timber pendant above, while black seating, appliances and a dark undermount sink introduce contrast throughout the space.

What makes the combination work is that these elements don’t compete. The timber is repeated with purpose, the darker details provide definition, and the white joinery allows both to stand out.

For us, this is a good example of how material selection across joinery, surfaces, fixtures and lighting can turn a relatively simple palette into something much more considered.
