We are KB and Chianne, and Rural Built Co is our family-owned and operated construction business based in the heart of the Somerset region. While our name has changed, our "why" hasn't. With our two kids, Walter and Bonnie, by our side, we’re building a legacy rooted in the same rural values we live by every day. We don’t do "sales pitches" or glossy brochures. We’re hands-on builders who own our own gear and do our own earthworks. From measuring slopes to the final bolt, we’re on-site ensuring every project is built for the bush, not just the brochure. Whether it's farm infrastructure, sheds, or rural developments, we believe in honest work, quality craftsmanship, and a reputation you can count on. Built for the bush. You don’t have to buy the build to buy the shed.

We now supply Rural Built Co sheds as kits, so you can buy your shed from us and arrange the build the way that suits you.

You might already have a local builder you trust, or be planning to take it on yourself. We’ll supply the engineered kit, plans and installation manual, with phone support when you need to talk something through. If you’re in our Somerset build area and would like us to handle construction, we can talk about that too.

We’ll still start with the same questions: what needs to fit, how you’ll use the space and where it’s going on your property. Your shed is engineered for your site, whichever way you choose to build it.

We’ve also completely updated our website, with more information about our kits, what’s included and how it all works.

If you’ve had a shed in mind for a while, have a play with the 3D designer. Try a few sizes, move the doors around and see how it comes together. Send your design through when you’re ready, and we’ll help work through the details for a quote.

Kam is our labourer here at Rural Built Co. Young, keen and bringing a positive attitude to the job, he’s one of the people behind the sheds you see on this page.

Away from site, he has a passion for butchering and all things meat, along with a soft spot for old-school LandCruisers.

We’ll be sharing more of the faces behind Rural Built Co, so you can get to know the people you’ll be working with.

On site, lending a hand is part of the job. Taking a moment to ask how someone’s going matters too.

This R U OK Day, check in with a workmate, a friend or someone you haven’t heard from in a while.

It can be as simple as: “You’ve been a bit quiet lately, mate. How are you going?”

Pick a quiet moment, give them time to answer and listen. You don’t need to have all the answers or rush to fix things. Ask what might help, encourage them to reach out for support, and make a point of checking in again.

Looking out for each other shouldn’t finish when the tools are packed away.

A kit shed shouldn’t mean being left with a pile of steel and a set of drawings.

Rural Built Co supplies engineered shed kits for working farms, acreage properties and rural businesses across Australia.

That might be an open-front shed for tractors and implements, a drive-through machinery shed, covered hay storage, a horse shelter, a workshop, or a serious shed for the caravan, float and property gear.

Every kit is designed around your site, intended use, access requirements and local engineering conditions - not pulled from a generic catalogue or out dated engineering tables. We built this one. You could build the same shed yourself.

24m x 42m, 6m eave — hay one end, machinery the other. We did the lot on this job: dirt, slab, build.

But we supply our sheds as kits now, and that changes things for a lot of people.

Same engineered Aussie steel. Delivered to your block. Three ways to go about it:

You build it. You’ve got the gear and a couple of mates. We supply the kit and KB’s on the phone when you hit the fiddly bit.

Your builder builds it. You’ve already got someone local you trust. They work straight off the plans.

We build it with you. Depending on where you are, worth a conversation.

Here’s the honest bit, for a lot of people who’ve rung us over the years, the shed was never the problem. The build was (and waiting sucks). The cost of it, or the wait for a crew, or just wanting to do it themselves.

Every kit is engineered for your block, your wind region, your site. That doesn’t change whether we build it or you do. And if you want KB to come out and walk the spot before you commit to anything, he will.
