There’s a difference between a made bed and a styled bed… and if you’re a home stager, you’ll know exactly what we mean.

Homeowner: “The bed’s made, looks great.”
Stylist: “But where are the layers? The cushions? The throw? The texture?”

Same bed. Very different perspective.

For us, styling isn’t about adding things just for the sake of it. It’s about creating softness, balance and a sense of comfort that changes how a buyer experiences the room.

I’ve definitely noticed a shift in styling across the Gold Coast over the last 12–18 months… and I’m here for it.

We’ve moved away from the white on white on white and started bringing so much more depth, colour, texture and personality into our properties.

Warmer timbers, deeper tones, bolder artwork, earthy colours and those unexpected little pops that give a room some character.

Personally, I think it creates so much more visual interest and makes a home feel layered, considered and memorable — rather than everything starting to look the same.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll always love a beautiful neutral base… but give me a little colour and personality any day.

As stylists, one of our favourite things is walking into a room that feels a little plain and immediately seeing the potential.

This media room didn’t need a complete overhaul — it just needed some warmth, softness and personality. A few carefully chosen pieces, layered textures and those little finishing touches completely changed how the space feels.

And that’s the part of styling we love. It’s not always about filling a room with beautiful things — it’s about creating a feeling and making you want to spend time there.

Now this feels like the kind of room you’d happily curl up in, switch on a movie and stay awhile.
