A rare quiet day hiding away appreciating the gifts of produce 💚

Stories from the compost bin... A jumbled mess of bonds stitching. Clearly definable Kmart knickers tags, untouched nylon tights and annoyingly intact nappies... But the works seem to enjoy the nappy habitat. But the perfection of the composting bug team stripping back the cotton is impressive 💪

I can't help it ... always a pocket of seeds or funky nature stuff I've foraged like a little kid 😅😅😅 Had to go to the horrendous shopping centre today (dislike frequenting these places for many reasons).. but left with a handful of the brightest funky seeds ❤️

How have I missed these before?? Magnolia is one of my "childhood trees" and also really quite popular in the Perth street and landscaping scene.

I've seen the flowers and "cones" before but NEVER noticed the Fruit 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So why are they like this??

🐦 Birdies often favour red yummies and red is often an autumn/early winter colour.

Happy to share this .... "Purchase" from the corporate misery today. I left with a whopping smile 🌳🌱❤️

Shoutout to the City of Armadale for organising some awesome workshops! I am more than happy to promote and recommend this little Tues library workshop with the excellent EarthWhile Australia 💚

Want to dip into the world of Permaculture and designing?? It's in a beautiful spot in Martin 💚🌱

A few weeks ago I got to spend a few blissful days down in deep Karri forest learning how to AirCrete. It was absolutely magical connecting with beautiful humans all there to learn but even more special was that everyone there was learning to build to help others 💚

Naturally.. I'm now obsessed and have started on my own 🤗

Special big loves to Martina who drove, fed me, listened to me talk a lot... mostly about trees and bouncy castles, and kept me accountable for my hyperactivity. It was very special to not have to be responsible for a weekend ❤️

A timely prompt after spending the last few days in the gloriously moister, cooler overstory of Karri forest.

As a trade 'gardener' it is assumed I'll spend my time mowing, spraying and perfecting.

NOPE! It's time to change those elitist colonial views of big front lawns and manicured gardens requiring masses of irrigation.

REBELLLLL. Free yourself from that front lawn burden. 🙌

Traditional lawn has been under fire for years because of its lack of biodiversity and voracious appetite for fertiliser, herbicides and mowing
