π± Kat is out the front with an honest update on our wong bok and bok choy.
This one is a bit of a tidy-up. She is clearing the lower foliage and old leaf litter to keep airflow up and give pests and fungi fewer places to settle. While she is in there, she is checking things over, and that is where we hit a snag.
An aphid problem had crept up on one of the wong bok before we caught it, and it had gone too far to save. So, we made the call to pull it. It is never the fun part, but sometimes removing one plant is the best way to protect the rest, and we would rather be straight with you about that than pretend everything always goes to plan πΏ
The rest are staying put. Kat is giving them a good spray of Eco Oil, a plant-based botanical oil that smothers aphids on contact, getting right under the leaves where they like to cluster. There is no residual effect with Eco Oil, so she will check back in a few days and go again if needed.
