Together with my husband, I run Lefèvre Interiors, a family owned business of cabinetmakers, for the fourth generation. Living in Belgium, working as a designer at our interior design company Lefèvre Interiors, I started this blog to share with you my passion for design and decorating. With this blog I try to express my design ideas and I do hope to inspire you as much as possible. And of course I love to tell you about Belgian design and architecture from time to time. There is something truly special about seeing the wonderful Philippaerts family, our beloved Belgian equestrian family, gathered around the table, sharing precious moments together. 🩶
And what a joy - but above all, what an honour - it is for me to see Belgian Pearls Mimi Armchairs become part of such a warm and beautiful family setting!

Childhood memories being made in Cannes

Little feet, sandy days and the happiest of memories.
Our youngest family member discovering the magic of Cannes, with his little friend by his side.
And judging by that smile… I think we already have another little Cannes fan in the family.
Some places simply become part of your heart from the very beginning.

A visit to the Aalst Town Hall today

Pic 1 & 2 : The elegant Rococo building, the central main wing, visible in the inner courtyard of the city hall, known as the country house, built in 1756, immediately catches the eye.
Notice the intricate bell-shaped gable, a beautiful crafted sundial and oculus (a small, round window).
The facade features a white plastered finish and a gorgeous wrought-iron balcony.

Pic 3 : In front of this Rococo facade, a historic monument honoring the Aalst heroes died during the Belgian War of Independence in 1830.

Pic 4 : Entrance hall of the city hall, built around 1830, in the Neoclassical style, with its monumental passageway, supported by sleek, stately columns in the Tuscan order.

Pic 5 : The Memorial Plaque for Hugo LEFEVRE (I found a NAMESAKE!!!) in the entrance hall of the city hall.
A tribute to an Aalst Police officer and resistance hero, who refused to sacrifice his principles for the German occupier.
Hugo (born in 1911) was ORIGINALLY A CARPENTER. Talking about a COINCIDENCE!!!!
He became unemployed during the economic crisis before the war and subsequently chose a career with the Aalst police force.
Unfortunately he passed away in 1945, due to extreme deprivation in the Ellrich camp.
As a tribute, a street in Aalst was named after him, the Hugo Lefèvrestraat.
