HOUSE EM — Erpe-Mere, Belgium

HOTEL LE | Hotel architecture and interior design in Belgium.

An existing country house transformed into an intimate seven-room boutique hotel for the team behind a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Architecture unfolds as a sequence of sensory experiences. Water and light shape the arrival, while a monolithic natural stone fireplace gives the salon the intimacy of a private residence.

Dark timber, curved metal and mineral finishes create a distinctive atmosphere. Each room has its own identity, shaped by light, proportion and materiality.

The original architecture is preserved, while the interiors introduce a new approach to hospitality.

Makers Studio | Contemporary architecture in Belgium

A place where architecture, creativity and everyday life meet.

Surrounded by nature, Makers Studio explores the relationship between structure, materials and landscape. Exposed concrete, timber, glass and translucent surfaces create a balance between solidity and lightness, openness and intimacy.

Different levels, carefully framed views and natural daylight shape an architecture that remains closely connected to its surroundings.

Townhouse renovation in Geraardsbergen, Belgium, where 19th-century architecture meets contemporary design.

House GS transforms a historic residence dating from 1870 into a home and workspace, including ODA’s first architecture studio.

Rather than blending new interventions into the existing building, we chose to make the contrast visible. Original architectural details coexist with polished concrete, exposed steel, glass and stainless steel.

Two intersecting sightlines reorganise the interior, opening the house towards the garden and across the width of the plot. At the rear, a full-height glazed façade brings daylight deep into the house and creates a continuous relationship between architecture, interior and landscape.

A renovation where the different architectural periods remain visible, yet become part of one composition.

House TB | House renovation in Antwerp, Belgium.

A new architectural language shaped by the traces of an existing home.

On Antwerp’s Turnhoutsebaan, ODA Architecture transforms a once-enclosed residence into a contemporary home while preserving the elements that defined its character.

Dark timber panelling, original cabinetry, patterned floors and religious references reveal the layered history of the house. Rather than erasing these traces, the renovation uses them as the foundation for something new.

Walls and floors were selectively removed, creating unexpected connections between spaces and across different levels. Exposed concrete beams introduce abstract cruciform compositions, a subtle architectural reference to the building’s past.

At the rear, a circular window becomes a defining feature of the new façade, framing the garden and bringing natural light into the interior.

Original materials meet raw concrete, warm mineral finishes and carefully considered interventions.

An architecture of continuity, where the past is not reconstructed, but reinterpreted.

Townhouse renovation and interior architecture in Antwerp, Belgium, where historic details and contemporary interventions become part of one interior language.

For House BA, we wanted to avoid the familiar distinction between old and new. Existing mouldings, fireplaces and decorative elements were retained, while new furniture, lighting, materials and architectural interventions were designed to feel as though they had gradually become part of the house.

The interior draws on the chiaroscuro of Caravaggio: darkness is used deliberately to give colour, material and light more depth. Deep greens, reflective surfaces, timber, textiles and marble create rooms that change throughout the day.

Green marble found in the original fireplaces reappears in the new kitchen, while the bedroom shifts into terracotta, brown and gold, creating a more intimate atmosphere within the four-metre-high rooms.

Contemporary family house in Londerzeel, Belgium, designed by ODA Architecture around a contrast between openness and enclosure.

House HS turns a compact footprint into a surprisingly generous living space. The ground floor is conceived as one continuous landscape, with floor-to-ceiling glazing extending the kitchen, dining and living areas towards the garden.

Above, the architecture becomes deliberately more enclosed. The private rooms are gathered within a compact volume that appears to hover over the transparent ground floor.

Rather than creating generosity through size, House HS uses long views, transparency and carefully positioned volumes to make the house feel larger than its footprint.

Contemporary brick house in Deux-Acren, Belgium, designed by ODA Architecture as a single-storey home embedded within a sloping landscape.

House BR is organised around two intersecting brick walls that anchor the architecture to the terrain. Towards the street, they create privacy and enclosure. Towards the garden, the house opens almost completely through floor-to-ceiling glazing.

Above, a slender roof plane rests on an independent steel structure, keeping floor, walls and roof visually distinct. The floor follows the natural slope of the site, while deep roof overhangs extend beyond the façade to create sheltered terraces and a gradual transition between interior and landscape.

Brick, timber, steel and glass establish a deliberate contrast between weight and lightness. Solid walls appear to belong to the ground, while the roof seems to float above transparent façades.

Inspired by the structural clarity of the Case Study Houses, House BR is reduced to the essential elements of architecture: floor, wall, roof, light and landscape.

Residential architecture and interior design in Deux-Acren, Belgium.

A house where the interior does not stop at the glass.

Designed by ODA Architecture, this single-storey residence is organised around two intersecting natural-stone walls that continue through the interior, anchoring the house to its sloping site while creating privacy, structure and framed views towards the garden.

Inside, architecture and interior are conceived as one. Natural stone, timber, steel and glass form a restrained material palette, while floor-to-ceiling glazing and deep roof overhangs blur the boundary between living space, terrace and landscape.

Rather than treating the interior as something added afterwards, every element is developed as part of the same architectural composition, from material and furniture to light, proportion and views.
