TRAX published!

Our project TRAX has been featured in ‘Architecture in Belgium (on subtlety)’, a publication by Planopli, with texts by Dominique Pieters and photography by , published by .studiolucderycke .

Designed as a new concert hall, TRAX is part of a masterplan by for the transformation of a former railway depot in the station district.

We’re grateful to see our project so beautifully represented in this book, which offers a compelling overview of architectural production in Flanders over the past 25 years. A must-have!

b0b Van Reeth — House Huyse

In honour of b0b Van Reeth, who passed away one year ago today, we share another series of photographs of one of his early designs.

House Huyse was conceived and built around 1969, on a limited budget. More than five decades later, the house continues to resonate with contemporary architectural discourse. Its clarity, economy and attention to detail remain remarkably relevant. In many ways, architectural practices today are still indebted to the questions and principles explored in this early work by b0b.

This time, we focus on fragments: small corners, transitions and details that shape the experience of the house. Moments that may seem modest, yet are essential to the whole.

b0b is in the detail.

By sharing these images, we hope to keep the work present, to draw attention to its enduring relevance, and to allow b0b’s legacy to continue informing architectural practice in challenging times.

Copper pavilion

This design for a garden pavilion dates from 2017 and was completed in 2020. Today we received these recently made images and we’re excited to show that the design stil stands and that the copper skin only gets more beautiful over time.

Garden Pavilion

A few years ago we designed this small garden pavilion. Now the greenery is lush, it was time to get it in front of the lens. It has become a place of serenity, where one can connect with nature and slow the pace. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

b0b Van Reeth 1943-2025

In honour of b0b Van Reeth, we post this series of photographs of one of his first designs. The project for house Huyse was conceived and built around 1969 on a limited budget. Despite its age, the house is still very relevant in the architectural discours today. We believe a lot of architectural practices are still indebted to this earlier work of b0b in a good way.
architecten asked to make the series for b0b’s 80th birthday, now almost three years ago. We think the images capture the space, light and honest materials in an extraordinary way. Although b0b was a man of looking forward instead of looking back, he liked the fresh look on this old gem.

By sharing these pictures, we hope they can inspire and that the legacy of b0b can keep contributing to our architectural practices in these challenging times.

B-Post Sit Oostkamp - It’s a win!

bildt. architecten and Atavus have won the competition for an inclusive residential project in Oostkamp. The design is centered around a communal green space and connected to the car-free Hogedreef. Historical elements, such as the old school building and the nearby castle wall, are incorporated to give the site its unique character. The garden surrounds the transformed director’s house that serves as a community space for the residents. The project offers various housing types, with special attention given to the transition between private and shared spaces. The result is a harmonious design focused on sustainable, affordable, and high-quality living.

Even during winter break we keep on building! Constructing this iglo was a fun and educational experiment.

Recently, house WV was photographed by .kramer. The sunny day was perfect to experience how the central patio brings light deep into the house. The sense of depth and the tactility of the brickwork were also beautifully captured. The nuanced shades of the bricks goes hand in hand with the wooden joinery and both materials were consistently used in the interior as well. The result is a warm and welcoming home.
