I didn't set out to become a flower farmer. 🌸

After years in the corporate world and then becoming a stay-at-home mom, I found myself wondering what was next. I wanted to contribute financially to our family, but I also wanted something that felt fulfilling. Something that was mine.

The funny thing is, I was already doing it.

I was growing flowers. Spending every spare moment in the garden. Dreaming about what I could grow next.

Eventually, I started asking myself a different question.

What if this thing I love could become something more?

And that's how The Frequency Farm began.

Today, I'm a flower farmer/florist, workshop host, educator and founder of a business that continues to surprise me with what's possible.

Here you'll find beautiful flowers, behind-the-scenes farm life, floral events, business lessons, plenty of experiments and the occasional honest look at the messy middle.

Whether you're here for flowers, an experience or inspiration to build something of your own, welcome. 🀍

I'd love to know - what brought you here?

Just for fun. 3 Truths & A Lie

Which one do you think is NOT truth? FYI... I am full of surprises πŸ˜„

1. I love classic cars & own a hotrod.

2. I once rode a camel across the Sahara Desert.

3. I love scary/gory movies.

4. I've been featured in magazines as founder of The Frequency Farm

Answer will be in stories tomorrow! πŸ‘€

Are you still doing everything yourself in your flower business? Because truth be told, trying to wear ALL the hats is a pretty quick road to burnout. But what do you do when you don't feel like you're quite at the point where you can afford to hire help?

Early on in my flower business, someone gave me a piece of advice that really stuck with me: "Hire before you think you're ready." And I'm so glad I listened.

In the beginning, trading services was a great way for me to get the help I needed without spending money I didn't yet have. I traded flowers, workshop tickets, knowledge and other things I had to offer.

And that's something I encourage you to think about. What do you have that someone else might find valuable? You might be surprised at what you can exchange.

As your business grows and starts bringing in more revenue, I believe it's important to intentionally set aside money to bring in the help you need.

For me, right now, that's a bookkeeper. Crunching numbers, keeping up with taxes and managing the financial side of the business isn't where I want to spend my time. And quite frankly, it probably takes me twice as long as someone who actually enjoys doing it. I'd much rather have my hands in the dirt, be creating in the studio, connecting with customers or dreaming up what's next for the business.

Here's what I've learned: Just because you CAN do everything yourself doesn't mean you SHOULD.
Sometimes growing your business means learning to let go of the things that aren't the best use of your time. And that's a big part of building a business that's not only profitable, but actually gives you the freedom you started it for.

We dive into so much more of this inside Bloom Into Profit, my 4-week program designed to help flower entrepreneurs start, manage and grow a profitable flower business.

I'm curious, what's one thing in your flower business you wish you could hand off to someone else? Tell me in the comments! πŸ‘‡

And if you're ready to start thinking more like a business owner and less like someone who has to do it all, comment BLOOM. I'd love to chat with you! 🌸

Save this video for tips on how to get the most life out of your pumpkin florals.

These are living arrangements with fresh flowers in a freshly carved pumpkin and are not meant to last forever. However, there are tips to get the longest vase life:

Add water everyday or two to the jar inside, but do not over water. (If water spills into the pumpkin, it will rot quicker).

Place it outside in a covered area at night if possible.

As bloom's fade, simply pluck them from the arrangement and enjoy the rest of the foliage and flowers.

Happy Fall Y'all! πŸ‚
