Out Brierly Brook way...

A Moody Meandering

The Story:
I have a significant blessing geographically speaking. I live in an area called Brierly Brook just outside of Antigonish. I came here because there was a really cheap school house, that needed A TON of work, but was inside my budget and would give my three dogs a place to roam free in the fields. The years have rolled by and my perch has only grown wider and taller. There are few tree's I have not seen, few bends I have not walked around. I am in love with this land. In this photo you are witnessing where the river has slowed and the undulating bends become more pronounced. With a perfect compliment of fiery trees on either bank and just a shaft or two of light to illuminate them it is a scene of tranquility and balance. With just a breath, it will change in a day and what was will not be again for another year. It is good to take ones time when the mood strikes and the light is right. We’re collecting gently used books to help raise money for Jumpstart! ❤️

If you have books around the house that you’ve already enjoyed, we’d love to give them a second life while supporting a great cause. We’re accepting:

✨ Cookbooks
✨ Puzzles & activity books
✨ Pretty much anything in good condition!

Every donated book will help us raise funds for Jumpstart, helping kids access sports and recreation opportunities they may not otherwise have. 🏒⚽🏀

Donations can be dropped off at the Antigonish Canadian Tire retail store at 133 Church Street (in the mall).

To our firefighters, police officers, paramedics, dispatchers, EMO staff, and DNR staff, along with every partner agency—thank you for standing ready every hour of every day. Your commitment keeps our communities safe, supported, and protected through every call, every challenge, and every unknown.

We also extend our deepest appreciation to the families, partners, and loved ones who support our members behind the scenes. Your strength makes our service possible.
