Reviews like this one are why we love what we do.

Colette E. worked with Laurissa on her very first window covering project and left us this 5-star review on Google: “We worked with Laurissa who was amazing. Super friendly, knowledgeable and answered any questions we had.”

On install day, Richard set up her new motorized blinds: “He was fast and efficient and walked me through how to use everything as we got motorized blinds.”

Thank you, Colette! If you've worked with us, we'd be so grateful for a Google review too. And if you're starting your first project, book a free in-home consultation at www.allurewindowfashions.ca.

Quick vote before your coffee gets cold: which breakfast nook would you want to sit in tomorrow morning?

Our design team styled the same breakfast nook three ways to show how much a window treatment changes the mood of a room. Swipe for a tailored mocha linen Roman shade, then a soft smoky-mauve sheer drapery, then a moody floral Roman shade in burgundy and black that turns the window into the focal point.

Nothing else changes. The table, the chairs and the light are identical, which shows how much work a window does.

These are AI-created design concepts. In a real consultation we bring actual fabric samples to your actual window.

Comment 1, 2 or 3, and tell us why. We're curious whether Calgary leans tailored or romantic.

The difference between drapery that looks expensive and drapery that just looks fine usually comes down to a few details most people never think to ask for.

In this concept video you'll see pinch pleats that stand evenly across the top, a burgundy velvet contrast band along the leading edge, and a weighted hem so the fabric falls in straight, heavy folds. Small choices, big difference.

These are the finishing options we walk through in a consultation, because the fabric is only the beginning.

The video was created with AI to illustrate design details. Book a free in-home consultation and see real samples at www.allurewindowfashions.ca.

Thanksgiving is Monday. If you're hosting, here's a little inspiration for the room everyone gathers in.

This design concept shows a harvest table at golden hour, with sheer smoke-mauve drapery catching the low autumn sun and turning it into a warm glow rather than a glare. Candles, dark dahlias, linen, and a window that feels like part of the table setting.

Guests rarely name it, but they always feel it: a dressed window makes a dining room look finished.

It was created with AI to share a mood, and it's not a client project. We'd love to help you create the real thing in time for next year's table.

Are you hosting this weekend or heading to someone else's table? Tell us in the comments. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Allure.

Planning a room refresh this fall? Here's an offer that covers more than the window.

Buy a combination of window treatments and wallpaper with Allure by October 31, 2026, and we will design your whole room with a free, personalized 30-minute design consultation: window treatments, walls (wallpaper and paint), furniture and décor.

Drapery and wallpaper have to work together, so we already plan them side by side. This offer simply gives the whole room the same attention, at no extra cost.

The purchase needs to happen by October 31; the design session can be scheduled afterwards, whenever suits you.

The room shown is an AI design concept.

Burgundy in the bedroom: brave choice or best choice? Our design team knows which side we're on.

This design concept is built around custom velvet drapery in a deep burgundy, lined with blackout so it's as practical as it is beautiful. Behind it sits a simple mauve roller shade for daytime privacy.

Custom drapery looks custom because of fullness. Panels sized for the wall, not just the window, hang in rich, even folds. That's the difference between curtains and drapery.

The image was created with AI as a design concept. A real Allure bedroom is designed around the room you actually have.

Would you choose burgundy for your bedroom, or keep it light? Tell us below, and if you'd like to see velvet samples in person, book a free consultation at www.allurewindowfashions.ca.

If you've followed Allure for a while, you'll notice our page looks a little different this month. That's on purpose.

We're the Allure Design Team, and we want this page to feel more like walking through the rooms we dream up for clients: finished spaces, beautiful fabrics, and windows dressed the way they deserve.

This first one is a living room in burgundy, mauve and chocolate brown. The custom mauve linen drapery is hung close to the ceiling and well past the frame, a simple choice that makes ordinary windows feel grand.

A quick note: these rooms are design concepts created with AI to show what's possible. Your room would be designed around your real windows, your light and the way you live.

Which room in your home would you most love to see reimagined? Tell us in the comments, because we're taking requests. www.allurewindowfashions.ca

A September offer that covers more than the window this time.

Book a combination of window treatments and wallpaper with me before September 30, and I'll include a free, personalized 30-minute design consultation for the entire room: window treatments, walls (wallpaper and paint), furniture, and decor.

I already plan window treatments and wallpaper together on most projects; the fabric and the pattern have to work with each other, so the conversation naturally expands past just the window. This offer just makes that bigger conversation official, at no extra cost.

The purchase needs to happen by September 30; the consultation itself can be scheduled after, whenever works best for you.

Thinking about tackling a full room this fall? www.allurewindowfashions.com to get started, or comment below and I'll walk you through how the combo works.

Jill just shared this about the window treatments we designed for them:

"Allure Window Fashions was knowledgeable, and easy to work with.

Laurissa's customer service was Excellent, taking the time to explain all my options, help me choose the colors, and she remained in good communication until the job was done.

The installation was done on time, and quite quickly too.

The shades are a nice upgrade and the quality is really good as well."

Quick safety note from me, not a sales pitch: corded window blinds are a documented strangulation hazard for young children and pets, and it's still the most common style I find installed in older Calgary homes.

The fix is straightforward; cordless is now the industry standard, available as spring-lift, motorized, or a fully enclosed cord loop, and it costs less to switch than most people assume.

A lot of the corded blinds still hanging in Calgary homes were installed before cordless became standard, so the risk isn't about an old or cheap product, it's just timing. Retrofitting a single problem window is usually a same-day fix for my install team.
If you've got a corded blind within reach of a crib, a play area, or a curious cat, I'd rather you ask me a quick question than wait. Comment or [WEBSITE URL] for a free safety check.
