Delaporte Garden Glass Friends and Family it is almost Halloween! It is time to clean up the gardens and get them ready for the winter. I prefer to wait until everything had died back before removing the faded plants. But the is so much to do in my gardens, I have to take it a couple of barrels at a time. Removing the faded plants is easier after they are dried out. It also gives the perennials the most chance of survival having stored as much energy to winter over . A clean garden is less likely to suffer from fungal infections, pests and avoid rodent damage. I am still amazed at the plants blooming - especially the ones growing in the patio cracks - as you can see the snap dragons are still beautiful, the second blooms of the chrysanthemums are just coming into their own, and the last roses still are ready to open. I hope you are all well and enjoying the warm weather we are experiencing.
