Nature’s Own is a landscape design and construction company that was founded by Steven Van Lochem NPD in 2001, and has been primarily serving the Niagara Region from its Pelham location. In 2012 we decided to go incorporated, and changed the company name to Nature’s Own Landscape & Nursery Ltd. Together the day to day business operations are now overseen by Steven & Ryan Van Lochem, and we strive to maintain our reputable commitment to quality and our small business atmosphere that many of our customers have grown to love.

For this Fonthill backyard, there was already a pool—but the space around it wasn’t really working. The layout felt tight, privacy was limited, and the yard didn’t reflect how the homeowners wanted to spend their downtime outdoors.

Our job was to reimagine everything surrounding the pool. Stone walkways replaced plain concrete. New planting beds and mature evergreens were added to create privacy and a sense of calm. Seating areas were thoughtfully placed to make the space feel more comfortable and inviting—all without adding more square footage.

We love this project because it’s a great reminder that the size or shape of your backyard doesn’t have to hold you back. With the right design and the right team, even a compact space can become an inspiring place to unwind.

For this next job, we’ll be adding a beautiful new front entrance and walkway to this gorgeous historic home. We can’t wait to get started and bring this vision to life while complementing the home’s timeless charm.
