Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour residential school Survivors, their families and communities, and remember the children who never returned home.
This day is an opportunity to reflect on the history and lasting impacts of the residential school system, while continuing to listen to and learn from First Nations, Inuit and MΓ©tis voices and experiences.
We encourage everyone to explore Indigenous-led educational resources, support reconciliation initiatives and take part in programs that help build greater understanding within our communities.
Reconciliation is an ongoing journey that requires listening, learning, respect and action from all of us.
