Meet Heather — the original face of High River Cleaning.
I’ve been a resident of High River for 36 years and have run High River Cleaning for the last seven years.
I started my first cleaning job at 14, went to college for marketing, photography and business, spent 29 years as the Advertising Manager at the High River Times, retired for approximately two months… and then decided the obvious next step was to start a cleaning company because I wasn’t ready to slow down, love to clean and saw the need for cleans to be done the old fashioned way and not with swiffers.
Seven years later, here we are!
Today, High River Cleaning has a growing team, hundreds of clients and a great reputation for honesty, integrity and professionalism. I believe there’s plenty of work out there for many cleaning businesses and I’ve referred people to others when our schedule couldn’t accommodate them on short notice but I’ve also seen the good, bad and ugly of today’s work ethic and standards which I find alarming. People looking for work smelling like alcohol or pot won’t work for me but they will turn around and start their own business. I think the expression one sent me by text was “ I wasn’t good enough to work for you so I started my own business.”
People trust us in their homes, their most valuable asset, so I express strongly to clients that they need to do their due diligence and ask the important questions. Are you licensed and insured, how long have you been in business, do you have testimonials, do you have photos of your work, what are your cleaning products, how are people trained and meet with them in person.
This is my community. Cleaning businesses can easily get a bad reputation just like the scam ads on car detailing, who do you trust? There’s bad apples that can easily ruin things for business owners who have done their due diligence.
I built High River Cleaning because cleaning is more than cleaning. It’s giving busy families their time back. It’s helping seniors stay comfortable in their homes. It’s creating a workplace people enjoy coming to. It’s showing up when you say you will. It’s doing the job properly. It’s building a team that takes pride in what they do.
