Rove Interiors A house should be lived in; let’s create a home that is perfect for you and your lifestyle!

10/23/2026

The most important thing in your home won’t be on the shopping list.

It’s the life you want to live there. 🤍

Over the last two days, I’ve shared inspiration and the conversations that help us understand what home means to you.

Here’s where those conversations lead.

“We love having everyone over.”
Becomes a layout that makes gathering easy, with somewhere comfortable for everyone to sit.

“I need a quiet place to land.”
Becomes soft lighting, inviting textures, and a corner you’ll actually use.

“This belonged to my grandmother.”
Becomes the starting point for a room with history, personality, and meaning.

Your words become decisions.
Those decisions become the design.

Through sketches, shared ideas, samples, revisions—and the occasional “okay, hear me out…” 😉

We discover possibilities you may never have thought to search for.

That’s why thoughtful design takes more than choosing beautiful things.

It takes listening.
Understanding.
And imagining what your home could become, together.

The result is a space that supports your everyday routines, welcomes your favourite people, and makes room for the things that matter.

A home you recognise yourself in.

Every home has a story.
Let’s design yours.

Before I ask what colour you love, I want to know this:

When does your home feel most like home?

Is it the quiet before everyone wakes up?
A kitchen full of people who never stay out of the way?

Friday nights when everyone piles onto the sofa?

Yesterday, we talked about finding the feeling behind your inspiration photos.

Today, we go a little deeper.

Because thoughtful design begins with conversation—and sometimes the smallest comment gives us the biggest idea.

These are three questions I love to explore:

🤍 What do you want more of at home?
Connection? Quiet? Space to create? Room to host?

🤍 What makes everyday life harder than it needs to be? The awkward kitchen corner. Nowhere to drop your bags. A room nobody uses.

🤍 What would you never want to lose?
A family piece. A favourite view. The feeling of everyone gathering around your table.

Those answers have real design value.

They help us decide where storage belongs.
How furniture should sit.
What to keep, what to change, and where to invest.

This is where we start creating ideas together.
Ideas that belong to your life.

But how do we turn a conversation into a room you can actually see and feel?

Tomorrow, I’ll show you how the story becomes the design.

For now, tell me: what do you wish your home made more room for?

10/19/2026

You saved 147 rooms.
So why doesn’t any of them feel like you? 👀

One has the perfect kitchen.
Another has beautiful lighting.
And that living room? You’d move in tomorrow.

But now you’re trying to bring it all together…
and you’re wondering where to start.

Here’s why: a saved image shows you the finished room.
It doesn’t tell you why those choices were made—or whose life they were designed around.

Your home needs its own starting point.

Before adding another image to your folder, look at three you already love.

What keeps showing up?
Warm wood? Colour? Curves? A sense of calm?

Then ask: “What do I love about how this room FEELS?”

That’s a clue we can build on.

Inspiration is a wonderful beginning.
The next step is discovering what it means for you.

And that starts with questions you might not expect an interior designer to ask.

Tomorrow, I’m sharing three of them. 🤍

Save this for your next Pinterest deep dive.

Before you fall in love with the tile… let’s talk about the whole room. 😉

It starts innocently.
A saved kitchen.
A sofa you love.
“We’ll just move this one wall.”

Suddenly, every decision needs five more.

This is why I love getting involved early.
We make room for the dreaming.
Then connect the pretty things to a plan.

How you live.
What you need.
Where your budget makes the biggest difference.

So your home feels considered.
Connected.
And completely you.

You don’t need a finished vision to reach out.
“That room is driving me slightly bonkers” is a perfectly good starting point.

DM me “HOME” and tell me what you’re dreaming of.

A new website felt like the perfect excuse to pop back in and say hi. 👋

I’m Tanya, the designer behind Rove Interiors Design based in Kamloops, BC. I create homes that look beautiful, yes—but the best part is how they feel when you walk through the door. Like you can exhale. Like the people and little moments that matter most have a place here.

I want to hear about the Sunday mornings, the dinner parties, the backpacks that somehow never make it to the closet. (We can design for those, too.) The more I understand your life, the more your home can feel uniquely yours.

Rove’s new website is live, and sharing it feels a little like opening my front door and inviting you in. Come have a look around through the link in my bio. And if you’ve been dreaming about what your home could feel like, I’d love to hear about it. 🤎

Some sofas just understand fall. 🍂

The rich olive. The earthy neutrals. The soft, sink-in cushions that make you want to curl up with a blanket and stay awhile.

These new sofa styles may feel especially at home this season, but their warm, grounded palettes work beautifully year-round. Because the best sofa isn’t simply something you buy for a look—it becomes part of your everyday story. Morning coffee, movie nights, slow Sundays and a whole lot of real life.

Before choosing yours, consider:

• The scale of the room and how you move through it
• Seat depth, cushion support and how you actually like to lounge
• Fabric durability for kids, pets and everyday living
• A colour that complements your home beyond one season
• A silhouette that feels current, but still feels like you

Comfort matters. Proportion matters. And yes—the colour absolutely matters.

Which one are you curling up on: rich olive, deep chocolate or warm neutral?

Save this for your next sofa search. 🤎

Size really does matter… especially when it comes to rugs. 😉

As the days get shorter and we start spending more time indoors, it’s the perfect time to add a little warmth, softness and comfort underfoot.

Before you fall in love with a rug, save these sizing tips:

🛏️ Queen bed: An 8’ × 10’ rug works beautifully under the lower two-thirds of the bed. Choose a 9’ × 12’ if you want the nightstands included.

🛏️ King bed: A 9’ × 12’ rug gives the bed room to breathe and provides a comfortable landing on both sides. Go bigger if you can!

🛋️ Living room: At minimum, the front legs of your sofa and chairs should sit on the rug. The rug should feel like it connects the entire conversation area—not like it’s floating in the middle.

🍽️ Dining room: Allow enough rug beyond the table for every chair to remain on it when pulled out—ideally 24”–30” on all sides.

When in doubt? Measure, tape out the rug size on your floor and go a little bigger. A rug that’s too small, is too small and can make a room feel disconnected, while the right size brings everything together.

Save this post for the next time you’re rug shopping. 🤎

The finished vision can be difficult to see—but underneath the construction chaos is a carefully considered plan for how this ensuite will look, feel and function every day.

Before construction began, we planned how the homeowners would move through the room, what they needed to store and how they wanted the space to feel.

This space may not look like much just yet—but the outcome is already taking shape. 🤎

The not-so-pretty phase.
This is where the magic happens. Where thoughtful details transform a house into a home.

Custom built-ins are coming to this family room, designed with the 3 F’s in mind - Form, Function, & Flow.

Every shelf, drawer, and finish has been thoughtfully considered—because the best spaces don’t just look beautiful, they work beautifully too.

Stay tuned… this transformation is just getting started.

Everyone talks about the “after.”
But sometimes the most beautiful part of a renovation is what you choose not to change.

For Casa Haus, we honoured the home’s original architecture instead of competing with it. Rich brick, handcrafted plaster, exposed beams—features with history that simply needed the right supporting cast.

Thoughtful furnishings. Layered textures. Warm neutrals. A quieter palette that lets the architecture speak.

Proof that when a home has good bones, the best design enhances rather than replaces.
