When the Builders Build Their Own
Now we’re getting into the details.

One of the fun parts about building your own home is getting to think about all the little things you normally don’t notice until you actually use them every day.
Not just what the kitchen looks like, but how it works.

Where the plates go.
Where the utensils live.
How to make better use of a deep cabinet.
What should pull out instead of making you reach into the back.
And where a little extra organization will make life easier.

Some of these details are simple. Some took a little more thought. But together, they’re what turn cabinetry into a kitchen that actually works for the people living in it.

There are still a few things to finish, but this is the part where all those small decisions start making sense.

When the builders build their own, even the inside of the drawers gets some attention.

When the Builders Build Their Own
The house is starting to feel like home.

There’s still plenty happening on site, but we’re finally at that stage where the spaces we’ve been imagining for so long are starting to come together.
Outside, the timber frame is setting the character of the home. Inside, the kitchen is taking shape, cabinetry is going in, fixtures are finding their place, and even some of the smaller finishing details are starting to appear.

It’s funny how quickly a jobsite can change. One week you’re looking at plywood, tools and unfinished walls. Then suddenly you can stand in the kitchen and actually picture living there.

Still a work in progress, but definitely starting to feel like ours.

A Home Designed for Living

After looking at the architecture and craftsmanship over the past few weeks, it’s worth stepping back and looking at the Timber Ridge Residence as a whole.
The home provides approximately 3,747 sq. ft. of developed living space across three levels.

The main level brings together the primary bedroom suite, kitchen, dining area and Great Room. The lower level adds three additional bedrooms, bathrooms and a generous recreation area, while the upper loft overlooks the central living space.
Throughout the residence, Gothic Revival influences - particularly the steep gables, pointed timber arches and vertical proportions - give the home a distinctive architectural identity.

Outside, approximately 545 sq. ft. of covered deck space and a 369 sq. ft. patio extend the living areas into the landscape.

It is a home designed not only around an extraordinary setting, but around the people who live there.

Interior Character & Craftsmanship

A timber frame gives a home a strong visual identity, but the best interiors allow the other materials to have their own voice as well.

Inside the Timber Ridge Residence, rich timber is balanced by lighter cabinetry, natural stone, expansive glazing and understated finishes.

The kitchen sits beneath the exposed beam structure and opens directly into the main living areas, making it part of the home's central gathering space.

Throughout the residence, the Gothic influence is expressed through the timber itself. Pointed arches, steep structural lines and carefully shaped curved elements reference traditional Gothic forms while remaining completely at home within a modern timber residence.

Those details are part of what makes every custom timber frame unique.
