As we take time to give thanks this weekend, we're especially thankful for the beautiful outdoors, the trees that surround us, and everyone who helps make our world a little greener! 🌲🧡

A friendly reminder that our office will be closed on Monday, October 12th, for Thanksgiving. We will reopen on Tuesday morning, October 13th!

🌳 Happy National Tree Day! 🌳

What better way to celebrate than by planting trees this fall 🌱

Fall is a fantastic time to get trees in the ground. Cooler temperatures mean less stress on newly planted trees, while the soil is still warm enough for roots to establish before winter.

Whether you’re planting for shade, wildlife, privacy, fall colour, pollinators, or simply to add more trees to your property, today is the perfect reminder that every tree we plant is an investment in the future. 💚

🌲 Plant a tree.
🍁 Watch it grow.
🌎 Enjoy the benefits for years to come.

Happy National Tree Day from all of us at Ferguson Tree Nursery!

🌲🌿 Happy National Forest Week! 🌿🌲

Forests are so much more than trees!

From towering trees to native shrubs, flowering perennials and everything growing beneath the canopy, each layer plays an important role in creating a healthy, diverse forest ecosystem. 🌳🌸🌱

These plants provide food and shelter for wildlife, support pollinators, protect our soil and water, and contribute to the incredible biodiversity found in our forests.

At Ferguson Tree Nursery, we’re proud to grow a wide variety of trees, shrubs and perennials that can help support reforestation, restoration projects, pollinator habitat and healthy landscapes across Ontario and beyond.

This National Forest Week, take a closer look at the forest around you — there’s a whole community growing from the forest floor to the canopy! 🐝🦋🐦🌿

Healthy forests start with diversity. 💚

🌱 Tiny trees, big plans! 🌲

Today we’re finishing up the last of our greenhouse transplants!

These tiny Norway Spruce are heading out to the field, where they’ll spend the next couple of years growing bigger and stronger. 🌱➡️🌲

After a few seasons of growing in the field, they’ll be ready to dig and purchase as bareroot transplants!

It’s always amazing to see just how small these trees start—and to know that one day they’ll be part of windbreaks, privacy screens, reforestation projects and landscapes across the region. 💚

Be sure to check with your local Conservation Authority to see what planting projects they are offering.

🐢 ATTENTION FOREST CENTRE USERS! 🐢

Please use extra caution when driving on our roadways — turtle hatching season has started! 🐢🌿

We were lucky enough to have a friendly gentleman let us know that these tiny snapping turtle babies were actively hatching right in the middle of one of our roadways! 🥹🐢

As these little turtles begin making their way into the world, please:

🐢 Drive slowly and use extra caution
🐢 Keep an eye out for tiny turtles crossing the roads
🐢 Avoid any areas that have been blocked off

They may be tiny, but they’re on a big journey! 💚

Thank you for helping us give these little hatchlings a safe start and for being mindful while travelling throughout the Forest Centre.
