Things I’ll always recommend as a cabinet designer to someone renovating a home. 👇
After seeing how much the right cabinetry can change a space, there are a few things I think are always worth considering before you start your renovation.
1. Invest in storage that works for you. Deep drawers, pull-out organizers and well-planned corner storage can make everyday life so much easier.
2. Plan your layout before choosing finishes. Beautiful cabinets are great, but a kitchen that functions well will make you appreciate your renovation every single day.
3. Don’t overlook the little details. Hardware, interior organizers, drawer configurations and thoughtful finishing touches can make a bigger difference than you might expect.
4. Think about how you actually live. Your kitchen should work for your routines, your family and the way you use your space - not just look good in a photo.
5. Choose timeless where it matters, and have fun where you can. Cabinetry is a big part of your renovation, so consider finishes and styles you’ll love for years. You can always bring personality in through lighting, hardware and decor.
The biggest takeaway? A beautiful kitchen isn’t just about what you see. It’s about how well everything works behind those cabinet doors, too. 🤎
