Same room, same furniture, four totally different bedrooms. Swipe š
Most people think the rule is colour on the walls, white on the ceiling and trim. We hear it all the time at Hub City Hues. But that "safe" combo isn't always the best one.
1ļøā£ Black walls with white trim, white windows and a white ceiling. Honestly, this one can look the worst. All that white outlines every edge, so the room ends up feeling chopped up and boxed in.
2ļøā£ The full black colour drench: walls, ceiling, trim, everything. It's bold and dramatic, but one colour on every surface can get a little too intense.
3ļøā£ All black with only the ceiling left white. With the trim the same colour as the walls, the edges disappear and the room actually feels bigger.
4ļøā£ The original grey walls with a black ceiling and black trim. A dark ceiling visually brings the height down, and in a bedroom that's a good thing. It feels cozy and intimate, like it's wrapping around you.
The takeaway: don't default to white. Painting your ceiling or trim something other than white is a bold choice, and it's often the best one.
