๐ŸŒฟ The garden is still growing strong! ๐ŸŒผ

Even after several frosts, so many of our cold-hardy plants are still thriving! Our everbearing strawberries are still flowering and producing, with more berries to come in the weeks ahead. We also have celery, leeks, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, Swiss chard, spinach, beets and carrots growing beautifully.

And thereโ€™s still colour in the garden, too! Pansies, Wave petunias, many of our herbsโ€”including thyme, sage, chives, parsley, rosemary and oreganoโ€”and even some sunflowers are holding on and looking lovely.

Fall doesnโ€™t mean the garden is done just yet! ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒป๐Ÿซœ๐Ÿฅ•

Getting your gardens ready for winter? ๐ŸŒพโ„๏ธ

Straw is an easy way to protect your plants from cold temperatures, winter winds and repeated freezing and thawing.

It works wonderfully for:

๐ŸŒฑ Newly planted garlic
๐Ÿ“ Strawberry plants
๐ŸŒท Fall-planted bulbs
๐ŸŒฟ Asparagus and rhubarb beds
๐Ÿฅ• Carrots left for late harvesting
๐ŸŒผ Tender or newly planted perennials

Simply spread a loose layer approximately 4โ€“6 inches deep over the planted section.

Both planting garlic and straw bales are available at the standโ€”everything you need to get that garlic planted and tucked in for winter! ๐Ÿง„๐ŸŒพ

The straw has also been thoroughly tested and approved for sitting by Liam ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸคŽ
