Layers of existing finishes were peeled back and replaced with a palette of rich, deep tones, creating an enveloping atmosphere bringing depth and intimacy to the Lord Elgin Hotel lobby while accentuating its historic details. Against this updated backdrop, the original 1940’s polished brass Canada Post mailbox chute and existing brass elevator doors emerge as defining architectural features with their warmth and patina standing in striking contrast to the darker palette.
