✨TRAVEL TIPS - Save for your trip to Costa Rica✨ No camera, not even my Fuji XT-3, can truly capture the beauty of Costa Rica. It’s eco-tourism at its finest. The sea, the mountains, the lush tropical plants… this is where I find the deepest peace. A place where reality melts into a dream and every burden drifts away. 🌊🌴
If you’re thinking of visiting, I absolutely encourage you to go…but do your research beforehand. 🐚 Not every beach offers the same experience, and my daughter Isa spent hours studying maps before choosing our destination.
If you’re looking for a quiet beach with incredible snorkeling, Playa Ocotal is perfect. If you prefer a livelier atmosphere, Playa del Coco may be more your style. There are countless beaches to explore, each with its own charm. We were also told that the Pacific Coast beaches are generally more beautiful than those on the Caribbean side.
🚙 A friend warned us that driving in Costa Rica is an adventure — and they were right. It’s not for the faint of heart. Rent a 4x4 Jeep-style vehicle… you’ll thank me later.
⏱️ Give yourself plenty of time when driving anywhere. The roads can be steep, narrow, full of potholes, and sometimes you’ll even drive through shallow rivers. I’d estimate it takes about one-and-a-half times longer to get somewhere than what Google Maps suggests.
💵 Visa is accepted almost everywhere, but many businesses add a processing fee for card payments. Paying with colones (the local currency) or U.S. dollars is usually cheaper.
🌊🐒 Most importantly, soak in the wildlife and the beauty around you. Costa Rica feels like a place untouched by the rush of capitalism, a reminder to slow down and cherish experiences over things.
