Not every job goes according to plan, but that’s where the Granata way comes in. 🪨💪

We were called in to this log home in Revelstoke after another mason had started the river rock work. Unfortunately, there were some serious issues with the original application, so we had to remove what was already installed and start from scratch.

Our solution? Source river rock from a dried-up creek bed, then hand-select, cut, and shape those natural stones into thin veneer to give this home the look it deserved.

There’s nothing easy about taking rounded river rock and turning it into a beautiful, tight-fitting stone finish. It takes hard work, patience, and an eye for detail.

One-of-a-kind materials. Old-school hard work. Quality that speaks for itself.

That’s the Granata way. We don’t just make it work — we make it right.

Nothing beats that final dial-in. 👌🪨

Brushing out those finished joints and watching the stone really start to pop is one of the most satisfying parts of the job.

We matched the mortar colour as closely as possible to the stone, letting the natural colours, textures, and character do the talking.

It’s the little details that make the biggest difference. Anyone can lay stone, but taking the time to get those finishing touches right? That’s where the craftsmanship shines.

The job isn’t done when the last stone is laid. It’s done when every detail is dialled in.

New job is shaping up! 👊🪨

Nothing beats watching a project come together, one stone at a time. The natural texture, the mix of shapes and sizes, and the way each piece finds its place — that’s what makes stonework an art.

We’re getting dialled in on this one, and it’s only the beginning. Lots of work ahead, but we’re off to a great start!

Remember those block planters we built a few months back? 👀

The homeowner sent me some night shots now that the lighting is installed and the landscaping is all finished. What a difference it makes! 🔥

It’s always cool to see a project come together after we’ve packed up and moved on to the next one. The lighting, landscaping, and those clean block lines really bring everything to life.

Another project that looks even better after dark!

Some projects mean a little more than others. 👊

This one hits close to home—a lake cabin for some long-time family friends. We were grateful to be trusted with the fireplace and help bring their vision to life.

The centerpiece is a floor-to-ceiling Dutch Quality stone fireplace, featuring a blend of natural grey, charcoal, and lighter neutral tones that give the wall depth and character. The wide, horizontal black fireplace insert creates a clean, modern contrast against the rugged stonework, while the solid timber mantel adds warmth and that classic lake-cabin feel. The result is a balance of rustic texture and modern design that fits this space perfectly.

We love how the stone carries the feature wall from floor to ceiling, tying in beautifully with the natural wood ceiling and creating a fireplace that feels right at home in a lakeside setting.

Grateful to be part of this one. Thanks for trusting Granata Masonry with your fireplace!

Two stones. One custom feature wall. 👌

Blending Pangaea’s Cambrian Ledgestone with Copper Canyon to create a one-of-a-kind look in another beautiful custom lake home by Hindbo Construction.

It’s all about the details, the balance, and making two different stones work together as one. Another custom feature built to stand out and leave a lasting impression.
