Tip Tuesday: The Post-Thanksgiving Reset.

After a busy Thanksgiving weekend, your home can feel a little fuller than usual. All those extra dishes, leftovers, serving pieces, decorations, and all those little things that somehow migrate onto every surface.
And if you’re already thinking about downsizing, preparing for a move, or simplifying your home for the next chapter, weekends like this can be a good reminder of what you actually use, what you love, and what may no longer need to come with you.

My tip? Don’t try to tackle the whole house. Pick one small area and reset it completely.
Maybe it’s the kitchen counter, dining table, front entry, or fridge.
Clear it, put things back where they belong, toss what you no longer need, and give yourself one calm, clutter-free space to start from.

A little reset can make the whole house feel so much lighter and sometimes it’s also the first small step toward a much bigger transition.

Happy Thanksgiving from me and all of us at Clutter Relief Services.

This Thanksgiving, I’m feeling especially grateful for my family, my friends, this wonderful community, and the clients who continue to trust us with their homes, their transitions, and often some very personal chapters of their lives.
Over the years, I’ve learned that our homes hold so much more than things. They hold memories, stories, seasons, celebrations, and pieces of the lives we’ve built.

I’m also incredibly thankful for my team and for every person who has supported Clutter Relief Services along the way. Your trust, referrals, kind words, and continued support mean more than you know.

Wishing you a beautiful Thanksgiving filled with good food, great conversations, a little rest, and time with the people you love most.

A new Burlington downsizing auction in partnership with BidRush Online Auctions is LIVE and this one has some seriously beautiful finds!

If you love vintage pieces, fine china, original art, jewelry, collectibles or those one-of-a-kind treasures you just don’t see every day, you’ll want to take a look at this one.

A few highlights include Joanne Modderman original mini paintings, Royal Doulton figurines, Wedgwood Jasperware, vintage needlepoint art, Murano glass, sterling silver jewelry, Royal Worcester, Victorian Flow Blue porcelain, Royal Crown Derby, antique Doulton Lambeth stoneware, vintage furniture, interesting Canadian and U.S. currency, original floral artwork, Asian display pieces and so much more.

TIP TUESDAY: Take a Photo Before You Decide.

Here’s a trick I use with clients who are struggling to let something go:
Take a photo of it first. Sometimes we’re not attached to the actual item. We’re attached to the memory connected to it.
That old chair, your child’s artwork, a collection you no longer use, something that belonged to a loved one, you can honour the memory without keeping every single thing.
Take a photo. Save the story. Keep the memory.

Then ask yourself: Do I want the item, or do I just want what it represents?
And yes, your phone can hold a lot more memories than your basement can.
A little less clutter really can create a lot more life!
