From the ground up - the 16x10 Boathouse from start to finish. We installed it for our client in Innisfil.made sure the foundation was level and square, built the floor, put up the walls, put up the roof. Done. It’s a beaut.

BOATHOUSE BUILD — PART ONE: INNISFIL, ONTARIO)

Before a single wall goes up, this has to be right.

Square corners. Level ground. A foundation that carries the structure for years, not just something that looks fine on install day.

This is the part of a build nobody notices when it’s done well and everyone notices when it isn’t.

Batter boards up, string lines pulled tight, corners checked and checked again before a shovel does any real work.

The excavation is finished but it rained so I will be back on Friday to start laying down the landscape fabric and the gravel after it dries up a bit.

On Sunday, I will begin installing the 16x10 boathouse by Cedarshed Industries. The first day will be building a stable and level foundation. I know there are people that you can hire for a couple hundred dollars to put your shed together, BUT your foundation is vital to maintain drainage and stability for your storage building. So, do you really want a shed that starts rotting in year three or a shed that is not level? Do you want a shed that is not level and when you set a screwdriver down - it rolls away?
