🚨 MAJOR EXTORTION CRACKDOWN SHOCKS PEEL 😳 17 Men Arrested, 106 Charges Laid In International Crime Investigation
Peel Regional Police announced a massive breakthrough on May 25, 2026 after 17 men were arrested in connection with an alleged international criminal network known as “For Brothers,” accused of targeting South Asian business owners through extortion, violence, shootings, threats, and arson.
Authorities say the 17 accused range in age from 21 to 32 and face a combined total of 106 criminal charges. Investigators linked the group to 24 incidents, including 16 violent incidents involving shootings and arsons, with police saying approximately 324 rounds were fired during related attacks.
Police executed search warrants in April 2026 and seized six fi****ms, illicit drugs, cellphones, SIM cards, and fraudulent identification documents. Officials also confirmed several suspects may face immigration consequences following their criminal proceedings.
Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah said extortion networks have created fear throughout communities, especially within the South Asian community, and stressed that law enforcement agencies across Canada and the United States worked together during the investigation. More arrests are expected as the case continues.
Many business owners have raised concerns over the rise in extortion-related violence across the GTA.
