Who we are:

Leclair Decor is an Ottawa-based interior decorating firm founded and co-owned by husband and wife team Sacha and Melissa Leclair. After love and marriage -but slightly before the baby carriage- we bought our first house and got to work revamping it from top to bottom. Through the process of working together to transform our house into a home, we fell in love again – this time with the art of decorating interior spaces. After sharing photos of our progress and final product online, we immediately received requests from friends and acquaintances to guide them in revitalizing their own condos and houses. What we do:

Our specialties are project management, home decorating, and design consulting, which are provided to our clients through one-time consultations or more comprehensive project management services. Our clients are vibrant homeowners who want to create a beautiful space or home that looks both stylish and cozy. We love to mix finishes and styles to create truly personal spaces for our clients. Guiding our clients on where to spend and where to save is one of our fortes. What sets us apart:

We absolutely love what we do! Nothing brings us greater satisfaction than the moment we get to reveal a newly beautified space to our clients. From the moment we sit down with a new client to the final day of installation, we’re excited about the project and work hard to share that excitement through strong communication and collaboration with the homeowner. We are young, energetic, outgoing and make a point of combining emerging trends with classic design principles to create beautiful, modern spaces.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my favorite adventure buddy. 🎂

44 years in, and you’re still the person who says “let’s just go” — to the mountain, the flight, the next big idea. You show up for our kids with so much patience and joy, and you show up for me as my best friend and my steadiest partner, on the easy days and the hard ones.

I’m so grateful for this life we’re building together. Here’s to everything we’ve already lived, and everything still ahead.

I love you. Happy birthday!! 🎈 - Mel

It’s not one single thing. It’s a series of small design decisions working together to make the space feel warm, balanced and lived-in.

Here’s what we did:

1. Mixed materials + textures. Wood, stone, soft upholstery, woven fabrics and warm metals keep a neutral palette from ever feeling flat.

2. Got the scale right. One of the easiest ways to make a living room feel “off” is furniture that’s too small for the space. Generous pieces make this room feel grounded and intentional.

3. Layered the lighting. Instead of relying on overhead lighting, we incorporated multiple light sources at different heights to create a softer atmosphere.

4. Added contrast. A cozy room doesn’t have to mean everything is beige. Darker elements throughout give the eye somewhere to land and balance all those warmer tones.

5. Kept it collected, not perfect. Art, books, objects and accessories are what give a beautiful room personality. The goal is a home that feels designed, but still feels like a home.

The best spaces aren’t usually about one statement piece. It’s how all the little details work together.

Save this one for your next living room refresh. 🤎

Plot twist: we’re staying. 👀

After nearly two years of looking at real estate, debating a move and imagining what might be next… we’ve decided we’re not quite ready to leave this house. At least not yet.

But apparently deciding to stay means we immediately want to start changing things. 😅

There are three spaces we’ve been itching to revisit:

1. The fireplace — One of the first projects we tackled here and a design so many of you loved. The faux cement has served us well, but we’re ready to warm it up with a new colour, texture or material.

2. The powder room — Goodbye wallpaper? We’re picturing something darker and moodier, paired with new lighting and a few fresh details.

3. Our bedroom — This one is calling for a bigger refresh. New furniture, new lighting and a much moodier overall vibe.

We have ideas for all three… but we want YOU to help us choose where we start.

1. Fireplace 2. Powder Room or 3. Bedroom — which one are you picking first? 👇

And yes, we’ll be bringing you along for the whole transformation!
