Healthy Homemade Snacks!

Did you know that it’s easy to make a tasty and nutritious snack at home? Chickpeas are a great, low cost source of fibre and protein that you can turn into a poppable snack that can replace popcorn or chips.

- Drain a can of chickpeas and dry them off with a paper towel, then toss with oil and spread them evenly onto a baking sheet
- Bake in the oven at 400F for 25-35 minutes, shaking every 10 minutes until they turn golden and crispy
- While they are still hot, toss with the seasonings of your choice (salt, garlic powder, and cayenne are always good options, but feel free to experiment!)
- Let cool and enjoy!

🔥 BLAZE IT! 🔥

Did you know that it’s easy to make herbally infused butters at home? It’s a great way to add some greens to your diet, but remember to know your limits so you don’t overpower your senses! 😉

If you want decent potency, aim for about an equal amount of ground herb to butter by volume.
Spread out the herb on a baking sheet with parchment paper, then put it into an oven for 30-40 minutes at 245F, mixing every 10-15 minutes.
Melt your butter on low heat in a saucepan, and then mix in an equal amount of water.
Add your roasted herbs and simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
Strain the butter through a cheesecloth to catch any plant material.
Store your infused mix in a LABELLED jar, and refrigerate until it solidifies, draining any excess water.

Be warned that this can be a smelly process! You can use the butter in your baking to elevate your evening, but remember to take things slowly and keep it out of reach of children!
