Exterior shading is one of the many elements that can be thoughtfully integrated into a home’s architecture.

We work alongside builders, designers and architects to explore refined, recessed solutions that complement the overall vision, from exterior details to the elements within.

Have a project taking shape? Let’s talk through what’s possible.

You spend months considering every line, material and detail of a home. Exterior shading should not be the thing that interrupts it.

When planned early, exterior screens can be recessed directly into the patio soffit, staying out of sight when not in use and preserving the design as it was intended.

The screens provide shade and protection when needed, then disappear completely when they’re not.

Planning a new build or major renovation? Consider what can be concealed before it has to be added later.

Thoughtful design goes beyond the finishes you see. It’s about planning for the details that make a space feel complete.

Every window in this custom built Port Moody home was planned with concealed window treatment solutions, from recessed shade pockets to Track Trim for flush drapery tracks. By thinking about these details early, the window coverings become part of the architecture, preserving clean lines and keeping the view the focal point.

The solution is often in the details.

At this waterfront home in Deep Cove, concealed shade pockets were integrated into the architecture from the beginning, allowing roller shades to remain completely hidden when not in use.

The result is a seamless finish that supports the design vision without competing with it.

Built in, not bolted on.

This is the stage where window treatments either get integrated or compromised.

The Blindspace shade pocket is installed within the window frame so the shade disappears into the design.

That bottom up shade starts right here.

From framing to finish, it’s built in early so it can rise from the sill and still keep every line clean.

Skip this step and you are trying to force it later. The result never hits the same.

Simple move during framing. Big difference when it’s finished.

This is where the difference is made.

Not at the end. Right here.

That recessed pocket above the windows is already setting the stage for how the shading will sit and how clean the space will feel.

Swipe.

Looks just as clean in use as it does at rest.
That’s when you know it was planned right.

Where your eye goes first says everything.

The light, the lines, and the way the space feels. The shading sits quietly in the background, exactly where it should be.

Planned early. Built in. Never in the way.
