From fine-tuning garden beds to clearing leaves and tidying around established plants, there’s a rake for every job. 🍂🍃🍂

Niwaki Adjustable Rake:
A lightweight, 2 in 1 tool, made in Japan. Tighten the tines for tackling tight spots and removing finer debris, such as pine needles or hedge clippings, or loosen them for more manageable tasks like clearing leaves.
Made from a lightweight aluminium handle, which keeps it rust-free and a galvanised steel head. Although extremely lightweight, the Niwaki Aluminium Rake is a powerful and reliable tool.

Sneeboers 20 Tine Rake:
A spring-tine rake is a particularly good tool for moss and thatch removal and small lawn renovations. Also great for leaf raking. And the extra long handle means that you don’t have to bend over to rake - a great back-saver for us gardeners! The construction is strong and robust: the tines are assembled into a solid stainless steel framework and bolted to the solid ash handle with two brass rivets.

Sneeboer 7 Tine Rake:
A narrow leaf rake is one of the most frequently used tools on our maintenance rounds, especially during leaf season. The slim head fits easily in between plants in established borders and the long handle allows you to reach into the back of beds without walking into the bed. It also means you don’t have to bend over to rake - a great back-saver.

Sneeboer Short Handled Rake:
A lighter weight, short-handled version of the 7-tine leaf rake, designed for use in raised beds, but I particularly like to use it to gently rake blankets of autumn leaves off established shrubs and perennials with winter structural value in the autumn - to prevent splaying, broken branches and browning out of foliage from the weight of wet leaves all winter.

Beautifully crafted, practical tools designed to make light work of keeping your garden in order.

Comb, don’t cut your stipa tenuissima and other evergreen grasses!

We love the Sneeboer Hand Rake for this very job. 🌱🍃

A good garden rake is essential for preparing a fine, even seedbed. Use it to level the soil, gather up garden debris and work compost into the surface for a well-aerated growing environment.

With five sharply forged, inward-curving tines, this hand rake makes push-and-pull movements feel natural, giving you excellent control when working close to the ground.

Perfect for the finer details of soil preparation, where a little precision goes a long way.

Available in two lengths, and two handles (FSC ash or cherry wood). Sneeboer tools are beautifully designed with utility, fit and comfort in mind, and are constructed to last a lifetime. So many clever tools for so many different jobs!

The Sneeboer family has been making garden tools for over 100 years. Sneeboer tools are beautifully designed and built for maximum strength and utility - the heads are hand-forged from one piece of stainless steel and they are fitted with ash handles from FSC-certified forests.

Need a heavy-duty digging spade your crew can’t break?

This spade was introduced to me by a colleague in Vancouver many moons ago, and has been one of my company’s secret weapons for planting and transplanting mature plant material for almost 20 years.

These spades are rough, tough, amazing digging tools that will cut through anything and can be used to lever huge, weighty mature plants out of the ground. My brother the carpenter loves it for trenching and digging post-holes in hard ground.

I would hazard to say that they are virtually unbreakable. Our original is still going strong after being used by many young, strong crew members over the years, some of whom were very good at breaking shovels and spades in their enthusiasm for digging.

Needless to say, beware irrigation and gas lines! In fact, the fellow who first demonstrated it to me hit the gas line in his garden. Yes, there were firetrucks and quite a bit of fuss.

Made of aircraft-quality steel, it is super strong, rust resistant, and comes with a five-year manufacturer’s guarantee against breakage under normal use.

The long tapered 15” cutting edge resists dents and nicks from hard digging conditions.

Large rubber foot pad can be bolted to either side of the blade step for digging comfort

These lightweight Kuroco secateurs created by Takashi Yoshioka of Yoshioka Hamono are one of the new additions to our collection of Japanese pruning tools.

At first glance, they stand out for their striking appearance: the matte black body is paired with non-slip, criss-cross rubber grips. The blades are made from premium blue paper steel, which delivers exceptional sharpness and long-lasting performance.

The ergonomics of the tool design are excellent and sophisticated with a black non-slip grip and the way they’re weighted and balanced for maximum user comfort. The handle design prevents pinching, even when you grip closer to the blades.

Designed for use by horticultural professionals who demand long-lasting performance and the very best quality. Yoshioka Hamono has been producing some of the world’s finest blades since 1946.

One box. A whole lot of garden kit.

The TOYO Large Cantilevered Toolbox is big enough to keep the essentials together: secateurs, snips, hori hori and other hand tools, plus all the cleaning, sharpening and maintenance gear that usually ends up scattered around the shed.

Load it up, close it down, and take it wherever the work is.

Made in Japan since 1969, Toyo toolboxes are as practical as they are good-looking. Constructed from a single piece of pressed steel, their seamless design makes them remarkably strong, durable and satisfying to use. Originally designed for professional tradespeople, these iconic Japanese toolboxes are equally at home storing garden tools, workshop essentials, art supplies or whatever bits and pieces tend to follow you around. Simple, functional and built to last, Toyo has turned the humble toolbox into something worth keeping on display.

We carry a variety of TOYO shapes and sizes, with more colours arriving over the next few weeks.
