MLC Studio Update #2

Things are starting to come together!

Once demo began, we quickly discovered that the foyer entrance sat slightly higher than the conference room, so before the new flooring could go in, we had some levelling to do. A little reminder that renovations always have a few surprises waiting beneath the surface!

With that sorted, we installed Provenzafloorsontario LVP throughout the entire studio, and what a difference. Seeing the same flooring flow from room to room has completely changed the feel of this space from where we started.

Next up: furnishings, layers, and all the little details that will make our studio feel like home. I can’t wait to bring you along for that part.

Ever wonder how many decisions go into designing a kitchen?

Swipe for a closer look at just a handful of the selections that help bring a kitchen together, from cabinetry and countertops to lighting, hardware, and all those finishing details.

And that’s before we even get into floor plans, appliance shopping, custom millwork drawings, storage needs, and making sure every detail works together.

Behind the finished space are thoughtful decisions about how you cook, gather, and move through your day. Because you deserve a kitchen that feels like you and functions for the way you live. 🤍

Happy Thanksgiving 🤎🍂

Feeling extra thankful this weekend for my family and friends, the people who fill my life with love, laughter, and support through every season.

And to everyone who helps keep Marques Living Co. growing, thank you. To my clients who have trusted me with their homes and their dreams, the talented people I get to work alongside, and everyone who has shared a post, referred a friend, or cheered me on,you are such a meaningful part of this business.

This year has given me so much to be grateful for. Having the opportunity to do work I love and help create spaces where your families gather and make memories is something I never take for granted.

Wishing you a weekend filled with good food, familiar faces, and a little time to slow down and enjoy the blessings around you.

With love and gratitude,
Ashley 🤎

Colour can be quiet, too. 🤍

When someone mentions adding colour to a home, it’s easy to picture bright walls and bold, vibrant shades. But there’s a softer side of colour to explore.

Think dusty blues, muted greens, warm terracotta, buttery yellows and rich, earthy reds. Each brings its own personality to a space while still feeling calm, comfortable and timeless.

That’s one of my favourite things about designing with colour: finding the shade that makes a room feel a little more like the people who live in it.

So the next time you’re refreshing a space, consider bringing in a little colour. Start small with a cushion, artwork or curtains, or embrace it through paint or cabinetry. If bright colours aren’t your thing, a softer, more muted shade might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Which colour from this reel would you bring into your home? 👇

The studio… before it became the studio. 🤍

Now that we’re officially moved in and working from the new Marques Living Co. studio, I wanted to rewind a little and finally share the process of how we got here.

Welcome to Part 1 of our Studio Series: the very first walkthrough.

When I first got the keys, the space was technically updated and completely usable… it just didn’t feel like me yet.

The goal was to take what was here and create a space that felt warm, creative and collaborative, somewhere a team could work together, clients could come in and feel comfortable, and I could actually showcase the materials, textures and details that are such a huge part of the design process.

We needed a dedicated workstation for me, space for team members to work and collaborate, a conference room for client meetings, and LOTS of room for samples. (Because apparently an interior designer can never have enough samples. 😂)

And, of course, I wanted to bring some personality into it with colour, patterns, texture and all those little layers that make a space feel collected rather than simply “finished.”

You’ve already seen that we’re officially moved in, but there’s so much of the transformation I haven’t shared yet.

So I’m going back to the beginning. Over the next few posts, I’ll be sharing how we took this little space from before → renovation → Marques Living Co. studio.

Here’s where it all started. 🤍🔑

Three years of Marques Living Co. 🤍

What started at a tiny desk in my bedroom with little ones often sitting on my lap, has grown into something I once only dreamed about.

Three years of creating, learning, growing, taking chances, and building a business alongside the life that matters most to me.

So incredibly grateful for every project, every client, every opportunity and every person who has been part of these first three years.

Here’s to everything still to come. 🥂✨
