A useful outdoor space starts with how you want to spend your time there.

This Windeck backyard brings cooking, dining and lounging into one connected layout.

Cook and serve: consider prep space and room for the cook to move.
Dine: allow for chairs when they’re pulled out, not just tucked under the table.
Lounge: arrange seating for conversation and keep a clear route to the other areas.

Look at the whole layout before deciding on the footprint. Walkways, doors, stairs and furniture all need to work together. Grill locations and clearances should follow the appliance instructions and the project design.

Flexstone is a waterproof decking system designed for projects where durability, flexibility and a seamless finish are important.

Unlike Duradek, which is installed as a sheet vinyl membrane, Flexstone is a liquid applied system that builds up in multiple layers to create one continuous waterproof surface.

Some of the key advantages of Flexstone include:

• Seamless finish with no visible sheet joints
• Fully waterproof once installed
• Flexible enough to accommodate movement in the deck structure
• Durable surface designed for demanding exterior applications
• Works well on stairs and other detailed areas where sheet products can be more difficult to finish cleanly
• Available in a range of colours and textured finishes
• Localized repairs can often be completed without replacing a large section of the surface

Both Flexstone and Duradek are proven waterproofing options, but they create a noticeably different finished product. Duradek offers the look and performance of traditional vinyl decking, while Flexstone provides a more continuous, coated finish that works especially well on custom deck designs.
