Nature just signed off on the palette.

Saturday sun, pink terrazzo, matt black brassware, and a rainbow nobody specified. Good materials let the light do the rest.

Happy weekend from Studio Jordao 🌈

A light can change the whole conversation in a room.

My second selection from PAD London PAD brings together furniture and lighting with a strong sculptural presence: branching forms overhead, expressive silhouettes, unexpected textures and shadows that become part of the composition.

Seeing these pieces together raises a question I often consider when designing interiors: where should the eye settle, and where does the room need space to breathe?

A distinctive piece deserves a thoughtful setting. Its relationship with the architecture, the surrounding furniture and the light is what allows it to come alive.

These were some of the moments that stayed with me.

Which piece would you build a room around?

Some of the most interesting things at PAD London PAD revealed themselves only when I moved closer.

Repeated forms, intricate surfaces, unexpected colour, and materials that made me question what I was looking at.

Bouke de Vries’s Cupid Juggling Broken Plates was a particular highlight: a historic carved figure surrounded by blue-and-white porcelain fragments, bringing objects from different periods into a new conversation.

Elsewhere, rippling reliefs, layered surfaces and richly detailed furniture kept drawing me back.

These are the details I look for when designing a home: pieces with enough character to hold your attention, and enough depth to keep revealing something new.

A few discoveries from my visit, through the Studio Jordao lens.

Which would you want to see up close?

Some things just can’t be rushed, and Decorex International | Europe’s Luxury Interior Design Show proved it ✨

Cast bronze that glows like moonlight, gold thread stitched by hand onto velvet, a burr wood bench that still looks like a tree. This year was all about the hand of the maker, and I loved every minute.

Swipe for my favourite moments, including Pearl by John Abbate and Ecume by Christine D. Rouvière, which I can’t stop thinking about.

Which one would you bring home? Tell me below 👇

Some things are simply too beautiful to replace.

Behind the front door of this West London home lies its original Edwardian tiled floor, over a century old and still intact.

This floor became an inspiration for the project, setting the tone for an approach that honours the house’s character while making room for contemporary living.

Preserving details like this helps the new spaces feel connected to the home’s history, allowing old and new to sit comfortably together.

Sometimes the best design decision is knowing what to keep.

Some pieces don’t just decorate a wall, they set the temperature of a room.

“O sol bem quente no quintal” (The warm sun in the backyard) by Marcella Vasconcelos, hand embroidered in natural wool, sits against terracotta walls that catch the morning light exactly as it should.

At Studio Jordao, I believe a home should tell your story. Art, colour and craft chosen with intention, so every corner feels like it belongs to you.

Me lembra casa, Pernambuco, as manhãs lentas de verão.

No Studio Jordao, acredito que uma casa deve contar a sua história. Arte, cor e artesanato escolhidos com intenção, para que cada canto pareça seu.

Introducing Studio Jordao.

After more than two decades shaped by different places, cultures and ways of living, from Brazil to Australia, Switzerland and now London, this new chapter feels like coming home.

The studio is built around a simple belief: a beautiful home should be about much more than how it looks.

It should feel personal. It should work for the people who live there. It should evolve with them and tell something of their story.

Studio Jordao creates warm, layered and considered interiors, bringing together architecture, colour, art, furniture and objects to create homes with character and soul.

This is a new chapter, and I'm very excited to finally share it. I hope we cross paths soon.
