ISSS research - architecture - urbanism

Wir sind optimistisch. Wir denken quer. Wir achten unseren Planeten. We are optimistic. We are contrarians. We care about our planet.

ISSS research | architecture | urbanism was founded in 2010 by Ingrid Sabatier and Stephan Schwarz in Paris and is based in Berlin since 2012. Following a collaborative design approach, the studio works on holistic concepts, reaching from large-scale urban design schemes to innovative architectural proposals. In our projects we are searching for meaningful spaces, deeply rooted in their specific context, robust and flexible enough to respond to uncertain futures. We consider processual development strategies as appropriate responses to increasingly complex situations, leaving room for the experiment and the spontaneous. In interdisciplinary teams we create radical spatial imaginaries for possible futures, dealing with questions of human scale, future mobility, hybrid typologies, cooperative landownership, urban metabolism and resilient urban landscapes. As architects we care about beauty and feel responsible for the conditions we create with our projects.
